Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
The site is almost one year old. I've done some updates and added many menus since a few months. But it's still in beta version, a lot of features are missing. But well, it's a part of another project we'll speak later.
Anyway, I've recently added many Now 5 menus.
For the new year, I plan to add most of the N.. O.... menus (fill the gap
).
After this, let me know which menus you'd like to see on the site.

Thanks for your work. I enjoy browsing through the collection and often discover disks not known to me before

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
Hi Brume, just wanted to say thank you for all your hard work over the years really.
I came across Stonish while hunting down those bastions of nostalgia- PaciDemo & PaciGame -- took me a while but I managed it! -- but didn't realise you were behind this new site too; very glad to see you (and the menus of which I'm predominantly interested in) back on the scene.
For those unawares and interested, PaciDemo is here now and you can still view arhives of the PaciGame pages (minus a lot of pictures sadly) here. Somewhat bizarrely when the sites moved to dedicated .com domains they weren't backed-up by the Internet Archive Wayback Machine not nearly as well as when they were hosted at AtariZone (also RIP?).
I wanted to ask you if you're still in the process of moving the files from PaciGame over to Stonish as I noticed that some menus I contributed (a paltry submission I admit but some missing ones none the less) aren't on the site yet, namely some menus by Out of Order. I still have the images if you need them so do let me know and I'll pass them your way, er, again after all these years.
Merci beaucoup monsieur!

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
Hey MagikGimp,
Thanks for your kind message. I really appreciate it
PaCigame et PaCidemo are definitively dead and won't be updated. But as you saw it, Stonish takes over from PaCigame. Also Stonish features more than 1800 disks at the moment, when PaCigame offered only 521 menus when it was closed. So all the work isn't lost.
Yes, Out of Order will be integrated to Stonish, of course
But testing (and repairing) the menus takes time. Be sure I'll put them on the site very soon.
Also, thanks for your offer. Did you manage to find more Out Of Order menus? I'm very poor about OoO menus, I still need to find most of them.
Here are the issue I have:
#1, #2, #7, #35, #37 (need to be repaired), #42
Thanks for all and glad you like the new site

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
I did notice that testing was done now and I'm quite interested about that because I was never 100% confident that my disks worked entirely as they should. When they were copied originally I was a dumb kid and my Dad ended up having to do them for me and although he did his best I'm not sure if they were done absolutely right or not. I know the menus themselves work (which is the important bit I suppose) but I'm sure I've had some of the games bomb out on me before although again I don't know if that's a problem with the copies or what. It would be nice to know how well those images perform under testing.Brume wrote:But testing (and repairing) the menus takes time.
Thank you. I did actually notice after I'd written my post that you mentioned you were working on O menus in the new year so my mistake on that.Brume wrote:Be sure I'll put them on the site very soon.
I don't have any other OoO menus sadly. You have interviewed past members of the group a while ago. It's too bad even they didn't keep a copy of their own disks.Brume wrote:Did you manage to find more Out Of Order menus?
You never know though, I may have some more missing jems knocking about; I certainly haven't gone through quite all my disks yet that's for sure. I'll be in touch should I come across anything. Cheers.
Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
Out Of Order disks are now online (sorry, just 5 menus, don't have so much).
Next disks on the site? I still don't know, there are so many.

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)

I do love that:

http://www.stonish.net/Out-Of-Order-110#st2
menu a lot and even though it's pretty obvious the skull was ripped from somewhere it's still a damn good scan for the time, especially considering the hardware. I have wondered all these years what the source was though and now, thanks to reverse image searching (we live in good Internet times) I've found out. It's from the cover of some 70s pulp fiction novel- The Resurrection Machine by Phil Smith. Here's the cover:

https://nastynels.wordpress.com/2009/06/08/phil-smith-the-resurrection-machine-2/
OoO weren't the only ones to rip it though actually. The search also came up with the ST game Mafia 2 - The Game by Woolf Software and I should imagine OoO stole it from them (who stole it from the book), or at least the idea to. The cropping and contrast are different but perhaps the game had the picture in the manual too or something; who knows. Well... there you go, that was a thing!

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
It's not my group; I have had no involvement with them at all in fact apart from having happened to have a copy of that menu which I submitted to PaciGame years ago (and which are now again available on Stonish hurrah) via Brume. Sorry for any confusion if I gave the impression I was involved back in the day; I would only have been about 8 then.lotek_style wrote:...can you supply more informations about the members and a group history?

However, Brume did organise an interview with the group which you can read on the archived PaciGame here and you should be able to glean a bit about them from there even perhaps a better contact. Hope that is of some help.

Two guys were interviewed but only the one, who went by the handle The Assassin, seems to have been in the group. Even then it doesn't seem as though they were around for long even though 42 disks is a good number for any group to produce. It's a real shame only so few have been archived. They must all be around somewhere (I may have another, who knows until I am able to check again) and hopefully now Stonish is here the word will get out and others will come out of the woodwork with them.
I'll take a look at your website now I know about it lotek; thank you for the link.
Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
Another update, another batch of menu disks.
This time, I've uploaded 52 compilations by Evil Force (Canadian crew).
There's more than 1900 disks on the site now. Hope to reach the 2000th very soon

Thanks for the friendly words, guy
Another update: this time 19 disks by The Cheshire Cats have been added. Thanks must go to Bodkinz and Pugsy: they sent these disks a long long time ago.
More rare menus to come? Who knows?

Just discovered your site today and have spent ages looking through the menus! I have only just recently picked and ST back up and will definitely be grabbing a few of the disks to take me on a nostalgia trip!
Keep up the good work

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
Yessss, the site celebrates the 2000th compilation!
http://stonish.net
(well, there's a little bit more now)
Have recently added many menus by Shaolin Masters, Shaolin Temple, Syncro Systems, Northside and Blues Brothers. As always, all disks have been tested and fixed if needed.
Just a few Blues Brothers disks are now lost : #27v1, #11, #13, #14, #16, #22. If you have one of them, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Thanks for reading and cu soon

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
Does Stonish have any content NOT in TOSEC? If so would be useful to know what... so TOSEC can be updated
Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
Yes, considering most of the menus weren't spread on the Internet until now, there's probably a lot of stuffs not included in TOSEC.
But i'm not in charge in TOSEC's db, so don't ask me

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
MOST weren't spread? There are 8747 compilations in the TOSEC/Compilations/Games/.ST files (not inc the STX files)...
It just struck me as worth knowing if there was some way to check the two.. for example you can DL the TOSEC data sets easily and see if anything is present on your archive and could be added to TOSEC... Or is it easy to simply DL all your archive and I will do it myself OR do you have a RomVault data file for your sets?
