Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)

Post by Brume »

Hey all,

Well, I'm just coming to open Stonish.net website, a project I started a long time ago. Unfortunately, I never managed to finish it... until today :)
The site offers more than 1500 compilations for Atari ST/STE. It features some of the most common collections (The Medway Boys, Fuzion...). But Stonish.net also offers a lot of rare menu disks.
So you'll can find among others:

- the complete collection of Euroswap compilation disks
- most of the Mad Vision disks (just two of them are missing!)
- most of the Orion menus
- most of the Dream Weavers menus
- a lot of Federation Of Free Traders disks
- a lot of Special FX disks
- many Revolution, Impact, Pulsion, Pure Energy, Supremacy compilations

If you are looking for a game, there is a autocompletion search engine. The site is still in beta version. It means, a lot of features will be added in the next weeks.
I've started to make it responsive-design compliant (see the page that displays all crews), but there's still some work to do.

Also in the next days, I'll finish to check and upload Bad Brew Crew compilations + Flame Of Finland menu disks.
Of course, any kind of feedback is welcome. Feel free to post here your suggestion, report of bug, etc.
And last but not least, everyone is welcome to fill the gap. I'll soon add a "Missing menus page" ;)

Thanks for reading.

Lovely. A forward question, but would you consider using your listings for the cosmosex image downloader?

Thanks to everyone for your support :D

More BBC menus will be added this week. Next week-end will feature FOF/Superior disks.

Next, I'd like to add a full collection of menus named *** Ah, I won't tell you the name now, but it has more than 170 disks.

Then, I'll consider the first step of the site is over.

Next step will concern another big feature on the site, which may appear online in a few weeks.

@wietze: this is something I'd like very much to see.
On my side, it won't require a lot of work.
Just creating a .php page or a .txt file that compiles a full list of the menus available would be easy.
Dunno if Jookie would be interesting in it?

I think this is very desireable for both jookie and the sex-users. Im not sure if Jookie has noticed this thread, otherwise we'll notify him :)

Very interesting project! I hope it stays up and running as sometimes hosting of those files may lead to legal problems....

Even without downloads I suspect it is becoming a major resource and site of information. I'm looking forward to its development! 8)

Amazing work Brume

Many rare disks have been imaged by devoted sceners and collectors in the last few years & I'm thrilled to see that this rare material has a home. That is, a home more permanent than forum attachments and scattered ftp uploads.

If the info stay in the community, I don't think it may lead to legal problems : if it was hosting pro. soft., maybe...

Good work Bruno!

I would also post this anouncement in the website forum. I think more people look in there, no? ;-)

Cheers,

Once again, thanks to everyone for the support. I really appreciate it :)
The word of a "home" suggested by bullis1 is great. That's the idea, I like it very much!

Well, I've added BBC menus yesterday. Just both disks are now missing. I'll add Corpo and FOF disks during the week-end. It will be followed by a huge collection of rare menus, but I still have some feature to add to the site. Dunno which one of these options I'll choose at first.

@ST Graveyard: well, I'll post this anouncement later in the website forum. The site is still in beta test and I don't want people to see so many bugs

Nice one.

It's too late (...early) to have a good look around now, however, I'll sink some time in over there at the weekend for sure.

I found your website via Google image search and browsed all of your collection - and found some great gems. Keep up the good work .
