Name of 2D space trading game
I remember playing this game on my ST. It was similar to Elite in the trading aspects but gameplay was 2D. There was a mini game for being attacked by pirates and another for landing on a planet. I believe the game was PD and was included on the front of STart magazine. Does anyone know about this game?
Re: Name of 2D space trading game
After reading a few scans of STart magazine I found the answer to my own question. In issue 38 is a game called Galactic Merchant.

I don't know where you can get the cover disks from. The magazine scans I got from https://archive.org/details/computermagazines.

I don't know how you came up with issue 38 as STart magazine uses the volume x/number 1-12 scheme.Spectone wrote:After reading a few scans of STart magazine I found the answer to my own question. In issue 38 is a game called Galactic Merchant.

Anyone else trying to find it should see here: http://www.atarimagazines.com/startv5n3 ... chant.html

It failed to self extra on several setups. It finally worked with TOS v1.02 + Hatari.simonsunnyboy wrote:I'm unable to find the disk at all. Can you attach what you have? I'm pretty sure extarcting is possible....

Issue 38 is how the file is named on the site I downloaded the scan from.

I see. Just visited that site and had a look. That's a terrible way to organize the magazines, someone should slap the webmaster there.Spectone wrote:Issue 38 is how the file is named on the site I downloaded the scan from.

If you need any further STart scans, visit here: http://www.atarimania.com/atari-magazine-start_24.html
It's far more complete and most importantly someone took the time to label them correctly.
I had all the cover disks imaged onto an external drive then the drive failed.

Unpacked the game with TOS 1.02, it requires 1MB of RAM and reminds me a lot of my own creations in the early 90s that never saw the public light
