Is there something special about that drive, or why is it so incredibly expensive?

This is a rare thing and I looked at what price this model was sold in the past.

Dude, its up to you, but the reason you may STILL be trying to sell an old 3.5" Atari floppy drive after nearly a year of trying is, like the poster above said; its just not that rare. You can basically buy one of those with a free working 520STFM attached to it for that price!

I dont need one, but if I was selling, I would try the equivalent of $55 USD or thereabouts.
Thats roughly the price most of the Atari traders sell reconditioned ones in the UK.

Thanks for the information. I'll think about it. With direct sales, I am ready to make a big discount; when selling on ebay I have big taxes. To equalize with the selling price on the forum there is not profitable.
