Can someone (one of the mods) make this a sticky? I think it's about time we had a proper community 'introduction' thread so we can all get to know each other better!
I know that some of you have been using this forum for years, and we've had photo's of houses, Atari set-ups, and other random stuff listed in the 'Chat Forum', but there's no obvious place for new members to say hi and immediately get to know who is who around here. So I thought I'd try and start one off. So even if (like me) you've been a forum member for ages, I still think we should all upload photo's, web sites, info on projects etc. in one place so we can make our little Atari community stronger!
I'll go first... But make sure the rest of you also include equally unflattering photo's!

Hi there, my name is James and I'm a self-confessed retro-gaming geek with a love of records, 5 1/4" discs, 8/16-Bit technology, Atari, Commodore and cats...
As well as being a full-time dad, part-time funk'n'soul'n'hiphop'n'roots'n'breaks DJ and railway employee (yawn), I also herd cats for a living. Well, actually by that I mean that I 'manage' the other writers and act as editor of the ever-so-quirky RGCD discmag, a CD-Rom based mag dedicated to reviewing new games for old machines and modern remakes / retro-style indie games. Check it out - it's free and all that: http://www.rgcd.co.uk
I run the RGCD enterprise (and create funk-hop beats) from within a cupboard in my little house. Behold the treasures within!
My cat is called Miffie, and she is always treated as royalty - hence her silk chair. My daughter Millie is 3 weeks old today (she's the one on the left), and I intend to train her diligently in the ways of crap-toy-collecting and old-school-gaming.
There are no photo's of my wife because she likes to keep her identity a secret, being famous and all that :S
The Atari STFM 520 was the first computer I really fell for - thanks to the easy-to-use GEM desktop and a fantastic library of games. However, when the commercial ST market dried up I sold to machine in order to 'upgrade' to the equally ill-fated Amiga 1200. Ah well, we all make mistakes...
Anyway, be sure to download a copy of RGCD and buy some homebrew GBA carts whilst you are at it. If any game developers out there want their work in the mag drop me a line!
Oh and a link to my rarely updated myspace page given below...

Is you cat a Birman? My gf breeds Ragdolls, the mitted variety looks the same except the mitts are smaller on a Ragdoll. So far my STe is still functioning even with all the cat fur everwhere
[edit] I forgot to say I shall get some pics on here[/edit]
Hello Argonaut, she's actually part ferrule and part Birman - my stepdad found her abandoned and half-dead in a barn. She's a bit of a nightmare to be honest, being half wild and a bit of a nutcase...
Cyprian_K - cheers!
Come on guys (Mug, RGUK, Brume, Simonsunnyboy, etc.) - lets see those photo's and biogs!

My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).
I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk
Mr. H. Stylus esq., you are a hero
But just to be ankward I am going to keep my highly confidential true identity a secret until I finally get to put faces to some big names here.......
That is if they finally crawl out from under their avatars....
Come on fellow Atarian's, lets see those photo's! I'll now recognise Mug, RG and Simon if I meet them in the flesh - but what about the rest of you crackers?
Think only the top mod (Brume / Silver Surfer) can turn a thread into a sticky - unless the original author can when they edit the existing post?

Hehe sorry Stylus, didn't realise it was this thread when I replied but... to make amends...
Name PaulB
Bio: (actually hetro) had an Atari since around 1985-86 520STFM.

I'm obsessed with upgrading my Mega STE's hardware and want it to be the best 16bit Atari out there (see hardware section lol).
Born in Hertfordshire but unfortunately my parents decided to move to London before I was old enough to have a say in it. So now I seem to be a Londoner. Turned 40 last year (nuff said).

Area: Born in Swansea, living and working in Cardiff @ the University.

Great stuff guys! Cool to see some mug-shots as well - this thread is starting to look like a modern atari-family album. Where's the Paradize and Atari Legend crews though?!?

I thought i was tall at 6ft
But you're also a whipper-snapper and probably got a few more inches to grow. Just be grateful you ain't a short-arse 5' 7" like I am! (that's my height before Retrogamer tries to suggest it's also my width!)
