What was the first game you played on your ST?

DungeonMaster! Many a winter evening was spent trying to complete this game.

Did you ever manage to complete it? Playing with a couple of kids at work (they are much better at it than I ), we managed to get to level 8 or so, but then ran out of food! It's pretty good going considering we didn't have the manual, so had to work out all the spells by trial and error.

Yep I remember they did complete it... I dont think they completed Chaos Strikes Back tho... I faintly remember it being a lot harder.

First game I played on -an- ST was Arkanoid on my friend's. Then Wizball.
I finally got my own ST a couple of months later and the first game I played on that was Blood Money, a DMA Design (aka the guys who now make Grand Theft Auto!) game released by Psygnosis. I loved shoot-'em-ups at that time, so it was a natural choice. It was hard as hell though and I never got very far in it.

Blood Money was one of the first games I played too (Came with the seemingly rare Turbo Pack) and I still think it's one of the best shoot-em-ups on any system. Me and my brothers could never get to the 3rd or 4th level until we found out a cheat, which was almost impossible to enter unless you tried it about 30 or so times. It involved pressing two keys together at the precisely the right time and a lot of luck.

The first game I ever played on my STe was Blood money.

Sun Dog was really quite excellent! I think my first game must have been Mercenary... It was the first game I bought and I think I did that pretty soon after getting my ST, was desperate for entertainment!

I bought Barbarian by Psygnosis with the Atari ST, so it's the first game I ever played on my ST I loved the enclosed poster (little dragon), I still have it and the box btw.

My original ST came with a big bundle of games and a couple of application / creativity programs. Of those, surprisingly Activision's MUSIC STUDIO was the one I probably used the most and for longest, because I had a MIDI synth to play my 'compositions' through.

But the game I actually bought the ST to play was Magnetic Scrolls' THE PAWN, because I I'd always loved text adventures - especially the Infocom series which were just too big to fit on my previous computer (Spectrum) and I thought the location graphics in the reviews for THE PAWN were really stunning (and so they were, considering the limited pallete of the machine).

Same here, but the first game I played was Outrun.

That was quite a good bundle. The only dud in the pack is Human Killing Machine - the other games (Blood Money, Dragon's Breath, Impossible Mission 2, Super Cycle and Anarchy) are all solid titles and a great start to ST gaming although Turbo isn't quite as comprehensive as the Power Pack which includes the brilliant Gauntlet II.

Impossible Mission II... There was an aptly named game.
