Wasn't it mouse controlled? Vague memories of this being a mouse-only game.
My main site: http://www.mug-uk.co.uk - slowly digging up the bits from my past (and re-working a few): Atari ST, Sega 8-bit (game hacks) and NDS (Music ripping guide).
I develop a free Word (for Windows) add-in that's available for Word 2007 upwards. It's a fix-it toolbox that will allow power Word users to fix document errors. You can find it at: http://www.mikestoolbox.co.uk

Yeah, it is.. I was pressing every key I could think of. Rather than firing the plasma cannons, all it would do was summon some radio thing that I could send a 4-5 letter message with...unseenmenace wrote:Yep mouse and keyboard I thinkmuguk wrote:Wasn't it mouse controlled? Wow, I played that on the C64 before I got my first Atari ST (I think I rented the tape from xtra-vision!) and realised within about 45 seconds that it was the worst game ever created. Absolutely abysmal!Avanze wrote:I can't be certain of the first game I played but I know what game I wanted to play first, Dragon's Lair.
I was like 8 years old, and nearly wanted to throw the joystick out the window.

Terrorpods was quite nice, but I can agree that I never got the hang of it... One of the reasons I guess was that I played it on my family's old TV... That red text on black background became a real blur and was near impossibe to decipher. My main strategy was mostly cruising around and blowing stuff up 'til I was completely out of energy

First my brother made me listen on the phone Starglider's music (he was at some friend's home, that had a ST).
Then (or before ?) I saw in a shop in Paris a funny demo I never saw again since - I think I posted about it long ago, that was a demo showing tribes in Egypt IIRC, with tiny people moving in nice coloured pictures.
And the very first game we loaded when we got the ST was King's Quest III.

Tai Pan was the first game I ever had. Was stuck with it for weeks. Well, that and Star Wars.
Bought an absolutely mint condition original of Tai Pan off of eBay about a year ago. Totally mint.
Also I collect complete games. As in Carrier Command with the cassette and the big round adhesive sticker. Have Starglider 2 and a few other mint complete ones.

The first game I played was (sort of) Parasol Stars. The game wouldn't load past the splash screen (most likely due to a corrupt disk). So I put in a cracked copy of No Second Prize instead and was blown away by the intro, music, and fluid 3D.

Well it's a long time ago.. don't know the title anymore, but it was a game like pipe dream.

sadly the stupid spelling games that came with the STE educational pack! Can't remember what it was called but you had to climb up ladders to collect words! Oh and one from the same pack with a catepillar and an apple and (I think) spelling again!! They were the only disks I had for the first few days way back when!

World Games (epyx) in 1987 the only Atari ST game that was in the store. I bought an ST at a time when it only came with a language disk!!!
It came in a compilation with super cycle, winter games and wrestling.
Still my favourite games, colouful cartoony graphics - epyx were truly good at their jobs.

My very first game on ST was Impossible Mission 2 (Epyx). I remember that game was quite hard to beat.
Great memories. (My second game was North & South, a damaged copy (I still remember how glitched the Infogrames logo was
))

Good game wasn't it? Came with my ST as well, along with a bunch of pirate disks... I loaned them all to a school friend who loaned me some of her games... then I gave hers back, and she never gave mine back.spiny wrote:ranarama
it was the only game I got with my ST - I played it everyday for six months before I could afford to buy another game
got really good at it though
