Just clicked on a link to the forum and had to wait for 2 minutes or so for the page to load.

Small hint on Apache side: try to limit PHP memory usage with memory_limit in php.ini.

Had lots of problems accessing the site with TapaTalk this weekend. I did not try the website.

If this is running on windows server and apache 2.0 or 2.2, the directive "Win32DisableAcceptEx" might help.

It has been really odd this morning. About 5mins ago it took about 10mins to load the forum and post. Now, a few mins later, its running fast again.

I notice that AF or any of the other sites hosted on the VPS will freeze me out if I go from one to the other.

It seemed ok earlier, looked at the active topics and such. Later I get an email about this thread updated, click the link in my mailer and it hangs for 2 minutes. Irony I guess.

did you check cpu and ram usage logs? Because it seems like a cpu usage spike to me.

I just pulled up the board index scrolled to the bottom and seen this:

Registered users: AhrefsBot, Bing [Bot], lp, paul92706, simoncam

Bots as registered users?!

This is correct behaviour for phpbb - however this did trigger something in the back of my mind which lead me to look at the bots config pages. So I have de-activated all bots/crawlers apart from Google, Yahoo and Bing.

Seemed better initially, but back to the magic timeouts again.

The site was in a nonresponsive state between 14:52 and 15:05 (UK) today. Possibly longer.

It seems to load for me first thing in the morning fine, but a hour or more later or so and it takes ages to load.

past 2-3 days was horrible, each page took a long time to load.... at least it seems faster now.

ETA: the slowness comes and goes...
