Online ST Picture Viewer - new tool
Sometimes ago I prepared small Atari picture viewer for my own purposes. I think it is time to show it.
Supported graphics formats:
SPECTRUM512:
SPC, SPS, SPU
DEGAS:
PI1, PI2, PI3
DESKPIC:
GBF
MODERN:
BMP, GIF, JPG, PNG
I plan to add following features:
- more Atari graphics formats (e.g. PC*, IMG, PCS, PBX, HRM, NEO);
- color palette viewer;
- file format info;
- graphic conversion (e.g. JPG to SPC) and export to file;
Check it: http://260ste.appspot.com/
Suggestions and comments are welcome.
Due to used HTML5 File and DnD API, Viewer works only under modern browser (like Firefox 4, Chrome 11).

Re: Online ST Picture Viewer - new tool

Then I notice that PC1 is not supported yet.

I drop a JPG and instead my browser displayed it. ...

Finally got it working, when drop the JPG onto the display box.

Love it! The option to drag a whole folder onto it would be nice, and then display in sequence ala slideshow.
Re: Online ST Picture Viewer - new tool
do you mean a magnifier or just zoom whole image e.g. x2?rudis wrote:great![]()

cool idea, I'll add zoom in near future. thanks

Great stuff and the demonstration on the web works fine.
Except if you use picture format > 320*200, border of it will cut...
Idea : do you add some Amiga format like IFF, LBM, etc...

do you have an example file? I'd like to implement overscaned files.Zorro 2 wrote:Great stuff and the demonstration on the web works fine.

BTW. stanard resolutions works fine e.g. 640x400 for GFB.
PI1/2/3 and PC/1/2/3 without top/bottom border works (check attached zipped KENSHIN.PI1)
I'll add them in near futureZorro 2 wrote:Idea : do you add some Amiga format like IFF, LBM, etc...

Hi Zorro,

thanks
corrected, png, gif, jpg and bmp should not be cropped to 320x200 any more.Zorro 2 wrote:A capture who demonstrate that a png file in 384*270 not appear totaly inside the square
unforunately that PIXEL.PI1 doesn't work neither under Degas Elite nor Atari Picture Viewer (Tom Kirk). It seems that it is not valid PI1 format. How do you create and open that file?Zorro 2 wrote:I join an overscan file, hope that you arrive to display it

DIGITAL.PI2 is not a valid Degas file uncompressed file.
It is nice to have an Example of a FuckPaint file finally. I will add it to my picture conversion program.

Ah, it is a very useful picture (NOT!).Nyh wrote:It is nice to have an Example of a FuckPaint file finally. I will add it to my picture conversion program.
I think it should look like this: Can someone confirm this?

Re: Online ST Picture Viewer - new tool
Fuckpaint comes with an picture with a PI4 extension that has exact the same format as a PI9 picture. Are both extensions in use?
Is the PI9 extension only for 320x240 with 256 colors or does it also support 320x200 with 256 colors?

Good work & idea ! I didn't know any St picture viewer online yet.
What about a full screen/window mode & a save option in png for example (or even bmp) ?

As no a single Falcon user did take time to help us out with this picture.

Re: Online ST Picture Viewer - new tool
I'm a fairly new Falcon owner as I got both of mine early last year, so not tried any graphical stuff yet but yes I would like your viewer to handle them. I've also got a exposé video capture device that I plan on using soon.
Re: Online ST Picture Viewer - new tool
That PI1 is actually slightly corrupt. Nothing wrong with your viewer, but that KENSHIN.PI1 has a 5 pixel wide column on the left of the picture that really should be on the right. See these images:Cyprian wrote:PI1/2/3 and PC/1/2/3 without top/bottom border works (check attached zipped KENSHIN.PI1)
I guess I should add support for images like this in my Atari ST Plus Picture Viewer as well.
Here is a fixed version of that PI1.

hi
there is a bug when loading Degas compress files in medium resolutions.
it could also be nice if you double y axis i medium so the picture look right.

is there a reason to why the picture is 44.834 bytes instead of 32.034 bytes?
is there something that i overlooked

because those PI1 have bigger resolution than 320x200. Attached you can find some other overscaned PI1. You can check them on my website: http://260ste.appspot.com/

Edit 20-09.2012 12.50
change some of the text, i discovered that google translate did make it sound rude, I apologize for that : )
thanks Cyprian i didn't notice that
do you have any information about size if Degas, i presume that it is only the y size there can be bigger.
here is the medium res error i talk about.
the second picture is what it should look like, the Y axis has been doubled.
and the st-midi.rar file is the source file
