I haven't found an assembly-able .mod replay routines yet.
I suppose there are already some for the STe and Falcon.

A good idea: to have the tracker replay routine available to
all demo parts/groups, at some address, with some pointers:
initialize, play, stop, pause, mute channel, ...

Is this possible? Anybody?

Recommendations for tracker replay routines?

The Lance Protracker replay is one of the best/fastest for STE/TT, but it doesn´t work with the Falcon (this shouldn´t be a problem for the STE Megademo ).

Does anyone know the exact birthdays of each Atari machine? That would be quite interesting. I know I bought my STE sometime between March 10-13th 1990.

From old-computers.com you can get the years, but exact date (day and month) somebody will have to look on magazines, I guess:

BITS have started a demo part for
this 20th Anniversary Mega Demo.

It uses the BLITTER chip, although
every programmer knows that the
68000 could do it faster, the space
consumption is lower (no shifted sprites).

Then I will use the hardware scroll
which is the best feature of the STe,
saving tons of CPU cycles.

I will do my first tries with the DMA
sound, 2 channels, 8bits, lots of cycles.

I can't promiss I find time (I finish music for a Spectrum game at the moment) but it should be possible.

However if the rule "Maximum packed filesize is 160kB" is what I think it is, than I'd rather withdraw.

You are right 160 kB is the maximum file size. So it would be really a problem to include a MOD with 200 kB and more if a screen also uses some graphics.

And this is much compared to old Megademos where you had limits like 50kB.

We really had a lot of problems the last days to integrate some of the screens (not yours) and had to fight with bugs in the loading system.
But most problems are fixed now and it will be released soon...
