Ati mach 64 2mb
All,
I have a mach32 and just acquired a mach 64 2mb and all seems to work as expected
But the mouse pointer is a small white squire with the mach 64 and works fine on all colours and resolutions, but the mouse pointer only works correct in 2 colours..
It works fine at 32k colours on my mach 32
Suggestions?

Re: Ati mach 64 2mb
Make sure you don't use a video mode that would need more than 2 MB.
I've had some troubles with the mouse cursor getting corrupt in some of the pre-configured video modes with my Mach64. I can't remember if I ever found out why, but I configured my own video modes and with them I have no problems. If you do so, you can configure a video mode with a 16:10 or 16:9 aspect ratio as well, which is nice (unless you're using an old 4:3 or 5:4 monitor that is). I'm running 1440x900 in 256 colors.

Would it be possible for you to post your drivers and .bib files?

You say the Nova gal you got from Frank a year ago, do you realise that an updated gal was released for Thunder Storm compatibility?

Re: Ati mach 64 2mb
I had something like that. After expanding memory (1MB --> 2MB, all banks), card works correctly.emcclariion wrote:But the mouse pointer is a small white squire...

This is a VRAM Card, requires a module to upgrade.artik-wroc wrote:I had something like that. After expanding memory (1MB --> 2MB, all banks), card works correctly.emcclariion wrote:But the mouse pointer is a small white squire...
Was looking at the chipset on his card, and my other ATI M64 w/4mb, chipsets are the same.
I'd never used an ATI 32 or 64 in a TT, only on an Afterburner/Nova setup. It's been a while, recall swapping them out in this machine with no differing results. But it was just a brief test.
With Falcon TOS, there is always some caveat using other than 15/16 bit FX. Thought that likely an issue here with TT TOS, after reading a bit about the new "to me" TT hardware, might be something to look into.
BTW, the 4MB card used with the Falcon Afterburner setup was bus clocked at 20mhz no problem. 22mhz worked as well, but other issues running the Afterburner at 44mhz start to creep into the setup.

Re: Ati mach 64 2mb
Cheers rusty
Just trying to find a solution, I think its driver related
But could be wrong, the card is great other wise.
Just to add the square mouse pointer will change colour sometimes

I understand
Curious myself. Have a SuperVidel, NOVA Falcon and Milan that always a trek to get up and going. True meaning of the term "to boot up"

Re: Ati mach 64 2mb
What exactly your problem with the ATI MACH64?
You use a nova vme adapter with the OGFA GAL and a Atari TT?
Work the card with a 2 color mode right?
Work the card with a 24 bit color mode right?
Work the card with a 16bit color mode right?

Re: Ati mach 64 2mb
Yes I use a OGFA GAL on the TT (Tick)
Card works with 2 colour mode with a mouse pointer which is a tos pointer and click and hold selecting many icons can be seen
card works with 24bit colour, but the mouse pointer is a white square block, which is tricky to use as you cannot see the point
card works with 16bit colour but the mouse pointer is a white square block as above, but sometimes blue...
using things like zview browser are tricky as hell as you cannot see the pointer and frankly its pissing me off, even though my mach 32 does not have the colour depth as the 64 at 1024 x 768 I would rather use it

Re: Ati mach 64 2mb
OK. Attached is a set of drivers and configurations. Copy it to your boot partition and try selecting the 1440x900 in 256 colors mode. It works fine on my Nova + Mach64 with 2MB (DRAM), I have note yet installed the new OGFA or made the hardware patches to restrict the VME address range on the Nova adapter.

Just tried them, those drivers don't like the lighting vme, I only managed to get it working in 2 colour with every thing unplugged from USB
It did attempt to load the high res but crashed

Re: Ati mach 64 2mb
Probably not the latest drivers. I haven't updated them for a while. Try replacing just the drivers with yours and try the wide screen resolution in 256 colors.
