Hello all!
Many moons ago I programmed several banks of sounds for my then new Kawai synths and saved them all in a program called STMIDIEX on my Atari ste which is long since gone. The file extension was .MTX Is there any hope in bringing these files up on my G5 powermac (Tiger OS) ? I did at one time use a Atari floppy emulator on my Windows XP box so this is why I have them now. Thanks in advance guys! Take care, Jeff

Re: STMIDIEX file conversion help needed
Hi,
I use a G4 and Tiger, but I think there is not a solution I have found yet...
On the PC you could run STEem and take the MIDI output to the Kawai or record it as SYX in another package.
It might well actually be syx data with a different file extension? unless the author implemented his own format? Try loading it as syx, by renaming ?
On the Mac the only possible solution is with Hatari but I don't know how the MIDI performs with that!
Cheers

Maybe with Linux in virtual machine? Here's instructions on using Hatari with MIDI on Linux:nativ wrote:On the Mac the only possible solution is with Hatari but I don't know how the MIDI performs with that!

Re: STMIDIEX file conversion help needed
Thank you both very much! I actually tried to rename the .mtx to syx but no go. Also, I think Im not using the emulator correctly because my file system is not visable once my drives are mounted. Anyway, I'll keep on it and hopefully post back here soon. Im not looking to route the midi connections, just open up STMIDIEX in the emulator and import the mtx files for sysex export. Thanks again, Jeff
