Tell me the menus if they don't already exist as rips and I'll rip them .. shouldn't be too hard

Hmm .. same thing here .. same result as my Projectyle rip ..
LOaded in menu with Steem Debugger, dump 1MB of memory to file and rip using WinHex.
Hints and tips:-
SET files .. 3 bytes of information before sample names. Rip from these 3 bytes through to end of sample data
.4V look for 3 x words, followed by 0304 or 0404 (beats per minute?) and rip to just before above sample set.
Usually the programmers follow the Quartet example and have the sample data after the song data.
But if you look at the the headers of the ones you have ripped you will being to notice the patterns of how they look etc.

I've even tried converting them to Mr Music format .. the .4V and the .SET are recognised and converted by the respective tools but again, bombs on playback.
I can only assume they are all using a different version of SINGSONG/SAFESONG.PRG ....

Will do some comparisons between the different SINGSONGs etc. that are in use ...
There's the original that came with Quartet .. and one by Nick Pelling which was a complete re-write of the original .. and there could be other adapted versions.

Oops .. guess I should have been looking properly at my own discs
Can someone do some comparisons between the data we're ripping and the working data and see if there are any differences? Maybe it's a simple case of changing a byte or two and we can get all the other tunes working?

Ooooh I had been looking for sparky tunes for ages - and the downloads are no longer available.
Do files offered on this site expire after a while (short short while) or is the attachment system borked again?
Is anyone able to email me the files linked in this thread?
I am at otterspocket76@hotmail.com
Thanks
Womble

maybe those errors are caused because the replay does not include some of the used features of quartet on those songs?

Well, if we ask one of the better coders on here, say from ULM .. maybe they can re-code a Quartet replayer that was used in the Illegal crack for Combo Racer.
Featured a tune by Chris of TGE (or was it just his burp he contributed?)

Re: Sparky / Pompey Pirates - Quartet Tunes
Does anyone know if there is way to get these files back into the full Quartet app rather than just the player? Would love to be able to fiddle around with them. Quartet just complains that the playback frequency has to be between 4 and 16KHz, then crashes with 3 bombs.

Re: Sparky / Pompey Pirates - Quartet Tunes
I've always reloaded my own rips (but not the Sparky stuff) back into Quartet as it (handily) made sure the files were the correct size in case I'd over-ripped them in the past. Vague memories of having the same problems back in the day. The Khz settings for the sample data are (from memory) stored in the first few bytes of either the .4V or .SET file.

I vaguely remember doing that with the deathbringer music.(IIRC)I've always reloaded my own rips (but not the Sparky stuff) back into Quartet as it (handily) made sure the files were the correct size in case I'd over-ripped them in the past. Vague memories of having the same problems back in the day.
I tried and gave up with the Projectyle ones as the samples were stored reversed or soemthing crazy & I think the file headers had been mucked about with too, That said I think I had done a sector dump file of the disk which didn't help.
I always wanted an ultimate ripper cart but never got round to it! I Used the Adrenalin & Probe ST, and sometimes messed with loading files into STOS.
