:/ stick to sid sound for the moment... i'd like to try musicmon2 but can't toggle the 1st channel sid/digital (ST key '~' which i cannot do with the emulator for some reason...)

triplex doesn't seem to be easy to use.

ANYONE WANTS TO CODE A TRACKER WITH A REAL GOOD INTERFACE?

The question shouldn't be about "wanting to do" it, it should be about actualy doing it.
Or rather having the time to do it...

well it's easier to draw an enveloppe! you don't have to press AND release the mouse button on each plot!

maybe for the rest it's just coz i'm more used to ssd...

i miss the protracker interface. it kicked arse!

Also SSD got powerful bloc cut/paste/overwrite/transpose functions and it can save each instruments separately, big missing parts in Triplex for the moment... :?

Yann_G :

well Triplex have same commands as Pro tracker !

F00
100
200
300
400

:-)

and Damos version have better copy/paste functions !

:-)

One thing I REALLY like is that the pattern dosen't scroll (on the orginal version)

well, the new and old triplex is good, but i'm not freaking out with excitement... but like anyone i have very interested anticipation.

at the end of the day all the major atari chip trackers offer something different to the composer.

SSD is still the only editor with triple SID voice, MusicMon2 still offers crazy detuning options and digidrums, XLR8 gives unique arragement and small file size plus seemless buzzer/drum sound integration, and of course Insignia for SSD freaks who want samples, or no SID voice.

triplex offers nice effect commands and ease of use, but whatever enhancements you throw it, it can never be (and never seeks to be) anything other than itself. there will always be things other editors can do better.

something new is always a breath of fresh air and inspiration of course, so great that something like triplex gets remixed....

but put it like this, if we'd all been using triplex for ten years, and suddenly someone brought out an enhanced and bug free SSD, then SSD would be the exciting new editor...

a phatt SSD tune will continue to be as roastin' as ever! lets not bury the bastard yet
