thx gwEm, but to be honest - 2x2 dithering doesn't looks so good
would be cool to have a native HighRes maxYMiser

Not sure what you mean, in fact nothing is dithered except the logo.

Have you tried the hi-res version? There is no rendering engine or something. The whole graphics engine and a lot of the GUI was recoded.

Couple of issues:
* MYM freezes when starting song playback with EmuTOS (latest release and snapshot). Playing empty song works OK, so it's not screen update, maybe interrupt handling for the sounds?
* In mono, config -> Show CPU option cause nasty flicker, at least in Hatari

Well, in normal monochrome programs text is normally easier to read than in color versions because of the higher resolution, but in MYM the text is actually harder to read in monochrome. It *looks* like the color font has been been just 2x increased and colors removed without adding extra detail, but maybe the background dithering is the main culprit for the readability (it does make the mono program look stylistically same as color one, so I understand why you chose it :-)).

I guess "dithered" isn't the best word describing that effect.

Well, that’s true - the normal font has just been increased 2x without adding extra detail :) But the ugly font is being generated directly ;)

I guess the aesthetics are a question of taste. Making it look like the colour version was indeed a consideration. The graphics and GUI already needed to have a pretty big recode. I didn’t want things diverging too much.

Ok, so there's actually a separate font, instead of the GUI being composed just from larger images.

Could you attach the font file / image file in case somebody would like to try some edits on it?

I just downloaded version 1.39, and set my screen to ST high (I have a Falcon), but Maxymiser stays in low res ? (Still have the intro screen) Any ideas ?
