...and I couldn't resist to find and try out this mod file, but ran into some problems.

I managed to find that Amiga Cover disk and to extract the mod file from there, but the ProTracker version I found at ftp.funet.fi is not able to load it and throws bombs at me when trying. If it is important, I should say that I'm trying it on a 1040STFM, no STE. I'm aware that this will be poor quality. In the ProTracker archive there were versions for both STE and STFM.

I could load and play the file with milkytracker on my linux box without problems. Milkytracker has a function to optimize built in, and after that, the missing sample in the middle of the list is erased and the resulting mod file is nearly double the size than before. I can load it with ProTracker on the Atari, but it is not correct. All samples work when played manual, but playing the file does not play the right tracks, only some few notes every now and then and very slow.

I'm guessing the mod is in a more modern file format that is not recognised by this ProTracker version. Can anyone point me to a working version or to some tools to convert the file format?

Got it! Yeah! I found a copy of ProTracker 2.1 here:http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=50030

That version is able to load the "optimized" mod file I generated with milkytracker.

I have tried it with a 486 DOS-PC using Fasttracker2 and an STFM using ProTracker 2.1 and after short time they are out of sync...

From a similar thread on EAB, it's nothing more than pressing play at the right time, and having multiple attempts at recording it until it works out.
