Zip Disk Clicking

Post by sniperstorm »

Anyone have any idea on this? I have a scsi zip 100 meg drive on my st, and one on my pc. I insert a disk, and the drive makes 2 clicks, and does not respond, and I cannot access the zip disk. So I insert the disk in my pc zip drive, same thing happens. WTF so I get a new drive for my st today and install it. works fine, then I insert a disk I need to format, 2 clicks again. Drive does not work now. Any ideas?

Well if you have a scsi hard drive (I assume you do since you want to transfer a lot of data) you can get a scsi cd-rom and transfer files from there. If that is not an option, you could try making a pc compatible partition on your disk and copy the files there, you can use ext2 for linux or f32 for windows. However mint or magic will be required.
Apart from that the usual file transfer methods such as ghostlink, parcp etc can also be used.
