Connect the pads with the same name (I used a ribbon cable) :
Ahhhh! Got it! Thanks.

How exactly did you route the ribbon cable through the printer port as the metal plate is in the way?

There is enough clearance between the shielding and the printer port for a flat ribbon cable to pass.
If you choose to solder the ribbon cable directly as I did (without any connector in between), you will not be able to remove it without de-soldering an end.
The ribbon cable has the advantage that every wire has the same length and it's relatively tidy.
But even when I did the troubleshooting on my colour pins with additional wires and connectors, I suffered no loss in picture or picture quality.

Just to clarify : I'll only have 10 board made, I'm adding people to the list at their request, being on the list doesn't guarantee a board, even if you're in the top ten, as my yield may not be 100% (I could destroy a board while soldering it). I'm only adding people over 10 in case people in the top ten change their mind.

I should receive the final parts (the PCBs) today or tomorrow, but I'm on vacation for two weeks starting tomorrow, so no news on the manufacturing before half September at least (I really hopped to get the parts before my departure, but I can't control that).

I wanted to make at least one to test the supplies. Works great, genuine CPLD.

I finally got round to hooking up one of the RGBtoHDMI I built together with the Pi 0 to my spare/donor/test STE this evening. Powering on I was presented with this:-
48646906-90BF-46E2-8732-3DA118B047E4.jpeg
I checked with the wiki, but I can’t figure out how to set the profile to STE as the CPLD reports that it’s RGB analog, even though I set it to RGB.

I ran out of time to fiddle around with it tonight, so hopefully I’ll figure it out tomorrow. If Pixelk can point me in the right direction, I’d very much appreciate it, although I expect he’s enjoying his well deserved vacation.

It looks like you are running an older firmware/OS. Be sure to run the latest beta 41 from IanSB (this one was released yesterday).
Look at this video to change the profile after the update (it was recorded with the latest board, without an STe attached).

RGB2HDMI - Atari STe Settings

To use IanSB betas you need to solder the VS and HS pin as showed in my last photos.
You will also benefit from doing a calibration, then saving your settings.

Thank you for your prompt reply!

I’m definitely running the wrong firmware. I’ll take a look at the video and update it later. Edit…Can’t find the link on YouTube

I have VS/grn1 form the left side of the board connected to VS, 4th resistor in from the left
HS connected to pin 2 of U403

Thanks again!

We both made our own : a din 13 from ebay, + toggle switch between pin 13 and 4
We also both 3D printed and enclosure.

Hi. At this time, I've decided to go another route on adding a color screen to my STacy. So please remove my
name from the "wish" list and give someone else an opportunity.

Thank you so much for this project, all the hard work you've put into it and bringing it to a point where people
will be able to take advantage of it.

Thanks again. :)

I’ve now hooked it up to a Dell monitor via DVI but I’m seeing black bars above and below the desktop. Is that normal as the monitor is a 5:4 ratio screen, not the original 4:3?

Also, if I power cycle STe, the RGBtoHDMI boots back to analogue mode, even though I had changed it to v94 and saved the configuration. Is it a s/w bug or hardware?

each monitor manages that differently, so your hypothesis may be the right one.

I wasn't able to fix the 3 broken boards. either the CPLDs were DOA, or I did something wrong.

I will contact the first 6 people on the waiting list via private message, to ask for delivery address, look what the delivery fees will be and after final agreement and payment, send the boards.

The price is 16€ + shipping.
*** EDIT *** PM sent.

Hi Dave, I think for technical issues relating to the firmware you need to be asking on the PitoRGB github, that is where the developers are. Pixel has just been building boards, he isn't a developer afaik.

Can you check my work before I proceed? Pin header sandwiched on the 21-40 side of what I believe is the “Shifter” and pin-header on the STF modulator pins… this is all I should need to hook up the 12-but issue 4 RGB2HDMI waiting patiently at right? I ask because the other photos in this thread don’t show this ST variant.
