68K piggyback socket

Post by LuigiThirty »

I have an exxos 16MHz CPU upgrade and a 1040STF. I really don’t want to risk damaging the board with a bunch of heating cycles from desoldering a 64 pin DIP and soldering in a socket. I have a bunch of 64-pin wire wrap sockets with really long legs. Will an exxos upgrade PCB work piggybacked onto the main CPU? I know there were a few upgrades back in the day that did.
