Internal Ultrasatan cable for Mega STe/STacy

I'm reading with interest

I have the cable and my old SatanDisk ready to do something similar, just need to find the time

Should be about the same concept with the Satandisk. (and I hear ya about the time!)

Okay, I acquired another hard drive cover for my STacy so I took another shot at it,
for access to the internal Ultrasatan setup.

This first pictures shows how I dremeled out a much smaller slot, and its much
tighter and neater looking.

Here is another shot, with a bit of an angle on it, so you can get some perspective.

And this last shot shows a side view, and how little space the internal arrangement
takes up, even with an SD card inserted.

I'm pretty happy with how this effort turned out. I've still got to tidy it all up and
work on some small blemishes and mars, but as far as the internal Ultrasatan setup
goes for my STacy, this is about it. We're "shiny".

Well, we just were talking about time (the lack thereof) just a few posts up.

Alan, when you do get around to installing the PAK, I hope you'll update us with
descriptions and pictures. I'm sure I'm not the only one interested in that!

Also, after reading the descriptions I'm wondering if these cables are supposed
to enable the *external* ACSI port, which is normally disabled when you pull the
SCSI card from the Mega STe or STacy.

Or do these cables add an internal connector for devices while correcting the
external port? The picture from the website has more than 1 connection.

I've got one of Lotharek's adapters in my Stacy which I put a CosmoSex in and indeed the external port is disabled/not connected.

On my Mega STe I shorted the datalines on Lotharek's internal connector and was able to use my ComosEX internally and a ICD link attached to the external ASCI port and both worked, BUT and a big But that is, HD Driver did not like this arrangement but ICD pro works fine. Right now I have it disconnected internally until I know why.

Ditto with Alan's adapter - that was always okay with me though,
never saw a need for anything external.
