ATARI ST sound OUTPUT

Hi there.

Atari ST has no sound-output (most bizarre) and STe's output is f*cked up because of distortion.

I noticed that sound through the monitor isn't distorted at all (or am I wrong?).
Could You kindly point me on the Net some scheme of sound-ouptut for ST (through the monitor port or *before* the monitor output)?

PS: Well, I don't hide I would be also grateful for the STe's sound-output modification allowing to avoid the AY's distortion.

Thanx to You I'm listenning now the great music from "Ultimate Music Demo" without any distortion from my 520 STfm!

Anyway, my friend is a fan of 1040 STe and he's asking about the sound modification for the STe machines.
I mean to clead from distortions the standard STe sound output (chinches).
I realize it's more complicated matter but maybe somebody knows any details?
