ST floppy cable
Hi, I just got Atari 520ST and external floppy drive but they both came without any cable. I made power supply using old AT supply and I tried to connect floppy by soldering ribbon cable. I connected every pin to pin (1-1, 2-2, 3-3....) but atari can`t see it. Does anyone have schematic for this kind of cable? It`s probably twisted or something (like PC floppy cable)

Re: ST floppy cable
Hello,
the direct pin-to-pin connection of data cable is not good. The ATARI external floppy connector pinout can be found here:
http://www.atari-forum.com/wiki/index.p ... isk_Drives
Please note that you can find that atari floppy pinout also on the web, but the pin numbering is wrong. In the wiki is the correct pinout. The PC floppy pinout is correct on the web, i.e. here:
http://pinouts.ru/Storage/InternalDisk_pinout.shtml
Now just connect the signals with the same names.

Re: ST floppy cable
Well, I did a stupid thing.... I was trying with ``out`` instead of ``in`` port on external floppy. Direct connection is working (1-1, 2-2 etc.)
Thanx for replying.
