I have not tried magix net but I recall reading somewhere that it's similar to Mintnet.
Have a look at my webpage http://phsw.110mb.com/nw-ethernet.html for some hints on Mintnet setup.

I think you're missing the netmask for the ifconfig part:

Code: Select all

I know for that link :) I copy stuff from it :D

well netmask 255.255.255.0 is by default.

I try to add it and it is the same: still ping wont work with MacBook :)

I saw that photo you refer to but once you have one in your hands, it is only then you realise just how dinky and compact they are.

how do you make case for Hydras ??

btw I found that Hydra wont work on my TT but it works just fine on Falcon!
on TT even MAC address is read incorrect, I always get something like: AA:AA:AA:AA:AA:AA:AA:AA or FA:FA:FA:FA:FA:FA:FA:FA ?!?

With so many serial ports on the TT, do you have the right one assigned and setup correctly?

Just a thought... :)

I mean't why would you want to lol.
Though if you wanted to they just about would fit in a cubase dongle case but would need a whole cut for the port and some little clear plastic rods glued to some drilled holes in the case for the led lights to remain visible.
Personally I wouldn't want to butcher my cubase cart.

You're using STING?
Then don't load SERIAL.STX up, you will not see them if they are not loaded.

no, I am using MagiC and MagiCNet - I just reinstall MagiC and again MAC address is E8:E8:E8:E8:E8:E8:E8:E8 ... everytime other pair that it repeats!

should hydra work on TT??
there are two option: to try STinG or to wait for VME LAN that should arrive in few days... :?

I have an original EtherNEC on my TT and working and its my understanding from reading this thread that the Hydra is a drop in replacement and should work just the same. Soon as mine arrives I'll find out if it works on my TT. I wanted the Hydra for the compact size as the huge black box dangling off the TT now is always in the way.

However, I am using MiNT-Net. :)

My two Hydras arrived a few days ago, safe and sound after their transatlantic voyage. One is set up with Sting on my MegaSTE, the other with MiNTnet on my Falcon/CT63. Both are working without issues so far. Thanks, djbase!
