Silly question maybe but would Notator have done it?

I've never used it but it did apparently notate for axes.

No and no.

There are a couple of programs which can write TAB. SPP for example or Guitar ST. But there are not compatible with Guitar Pro.
Guitar Dreams is another very nice program. It shows you chords and scales on the fretboard.

Another obvious one - MIDI? If the tab programs send and receive MIDI info, or raw data communicated via the MIDI as I can do between Sony Sound Forge and the Commodore 64, then you could have your option.

On guitar pro, its possible export the tab in midi or txt format. It's maybe a solution but not very friendly. i would prefer a ready-to- use software, cause i have a lot of tab in this format ( near from 56000).of course i don't play everything but some are wrong or not very good, so would like test them without using my PC first.

@xfalcon
guitar dream seems interesting, do you where i can find it?

I think it doesn't make sense to export Guitar Pro tab to any thing if you only want to check and play the songs. It's easier to use the pc. But if you really want to use atari you have to export do midi. I wrote all my tabs for my guitar student with score perfect, but it's more simply to use Guitar Pro.

I'm agree with you xfalcon, if any software on atari can read the gp tab directly, its easier to using guitar pro on pc.

too bad :(
