I use NVDI v5.03 on my TT030 with a CrazyDots II card. Photo here: http://gfa.atari-users.net/TT030/htm/video.htm

However, its not running Geneva, that is Thing Desktop pictured. It will also boot correctly to native modes. Perhaps the order of your auto folder has changed, only a guess.

I just moved and all my Atari gear is packed up. See http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.ph ... 25#p282080

I cannot say when and if it will get unpacked, don't currently have a desk for it as the old one isn't going to make it up the staircase. :(

Lonny, just commenting on the auto adjust section of your TT webpage...

I'm beginning to think it's *all* Atari's that have the odd video
signal.

I've got a replacement LCD that I'm trying to get to work with
my STacy and auto adjust works, sort of. It never takes it where
it's supposed to be.

Just FYI.

Bumping this just to see if anything new has been heard from Dan?

Still holding out a slim hope for the unreleased version of Geneva to see the light of day.

Nothing I'm afraid. I have mailed him 7 times since his last email to me in May 2013.

Anyone else fancy a mail to see what he says??

I last mailed him about 4.5 months ago.

viking272: you were actually pretty lucky. I emailed him in 2007, he replied he is not going to release source code and that he "considered releasing it as freeware and decided not to do it". Then I asked him in 2013 and, guess it, no reply. It seems that apart Thing, all great Atari apps are going to be lost forever.

I found it on Google. He had a page from the 1990s that had his software listed and he replied to that mail. I think his issue was that he got his old TT out and was making changes to release it when the disk failed. He never replied after that mail.

Damn, so he was making progress a few years ago, then a hard drive crash happened then he replied here and there to other emails, but not any about Geneva / Neodesk?

I used to use them back in the day, they were pretty sweet. It's awesome that Teradesk and Thing are open sourced now and a lot of the other Atari OS level stuff is, but I still really liked Dan's stuff. Would be cool to see Magic / Jinnee open sourced as well.

I think that Andreas Kromke said that MagiC will never be since it is all assembler code and not documented.

If it can still be built from the sources, I don't see those as a problem. :-)

Anyone want to take on making a new geneva/neodesk replacement?

Would be interesting with more modern methods to see if we could squeeze more performance/use out of our old systems, especially now that we have a lot more memory available (meaning it is 20 follars to get 4mb instead of 200 like it was in '94 or so.)

Yes and things are looking good. Dan got most of the source code restored from his second machine (Falcon). He is going to create new builds as freeware. He is also considering open sourcing all. This is quite likely but not 100% guaranteed as of right now. Drive recovery for TT is on the table but he has to make the call depending of how much stuff he had on Falcon vs TT. I will keep you updated.

Great news! Geneva is my favourite AES, I still prefer this over MagiC on my ST's. It has amazing backwards compatibility.
