I have several version of Degas for the Atari and they work fine under emulators, so I assume it would work if you write it back to a disk, makes me ashamed I sold my ST a long time ago with an original copy of Degas. (I made a backup and my friend wrote the label so I always called it Defas cory cos thats how bad his writing was lol!)

Sorry for some reason half of that is missing so i'll paraphrase what the rest was, but my suggestion boiled down to "debug it" if you were a programmer, but since someone else further up is already doing it, then why bother!
There was a slightly similar program made by RM Nimbus (the UK Education IT company) but it was aimed at children and was VERY brown! Loved Degas, made some great art in that program.

This program is under development, (just at the beginning) but at this time you can do :
- 100 screens to edit (from 0 to 99)
- Load & Save PI1 (all PI1 formats 32034 and 32066 in reading and 32066 in writting).
- Playing with color palettes (moving with options, chosing, ..)
- 512 color palette screen fully operational.
- Plot, draw, line, boxes, circles & ellipses, K-Ray, Fill, pipette (color reading) are in order to work.
- Cls (Clear Screen), Scroll (screen on 1 line with carry line or not)
- DoMask (Made automatically a sprite mask of complete screen)
- Copy (Copy of a screen to another within the 100 screens, color palette is copied too and can be different to each screen)
Edition Sprite at once and screen builder with blocs is planified and auto-generation of GFA Basic & ASM 680x0 code for
Blocs/ Sprites and all graphics features we can include.
Remarks & critics are already welcome

Tried it out on my laptop just now.sh3-rg wrote:DXL:
Plus points: runs under Wine with no errors.
Minus points: a little slow to respond and slightly too big for my laptop screen.
On the whole, well worth a proper look at.

The coder is a friendly chap & is open to suggestions on where to go from here, so anyone who has a need for some degas action on their PC should give it a look & let him know their thoughts. I've not had enough time with it yet but that will change soon.daeghnao wrote:On the whole, well worth a proper look at.sh3-rg wrote:DXL:

Hi,
Does Vision work on Aranym ? That might be a solution running under emulation.
Thanks
Ashley

Well maybe not changes, but maybe an extensie of formatssh3-rg wrote:The coder is a friendly chap & is open to suggestions on where to go from here, so anyone who has a need for some degas action on their PC should give it a look & let him know their thoughts. True Type Fonts use would be nicebut only as extra.
Like the Pi9 format, or an 640*480*16 and 640*480 * 256 format.
Plain RAW-like format would be good enough, but to get a bit more then just the
few format's Degas had. Esp. for developing on the TT Falcon some extra formats
without any difficult packing routines would be nice.
And for some nice features take a look at Crackart...
