Hi everyone,
How do we use the new Smart USB and CIFS searches feature?
Thanks!

Format a USB drive to FAT32 or NTFS.
Add your games to the drive in the same directory format as the micro SD.
Connect drive to MiSTer.
Games will appear in the menus just as is if they were on the micro SD.

This means that the USB drive is mounted somewhere on the MISTer file system. Where exactly?

/media/usb# I'd imagine.

The code is all available on the Github.

Hi everyone.
I tried with 2 different External USB HD (NTFS) and is not working for me. I am using the same micro sd file structure. I'm using latest MiSTer realease v191218,

I really appreciate your help to find what's missing to get it working.

Don't know if you are having the same problem as me, but I reformatted my SD card, reinstalled Mister, did the update script, but instead of putting all my ROMs in a games folder on the USB drive I just put them in the root of the hard drive and then it worked for me.

Some cores (NeoGeo, Game Boy, Atari 2600) do not work with external USB HDDs. I am confident it is not my setup, because other cores work (SMS, Genesis, MegaCD, Minimig, GBA, NES, SNES, C64).

What cores did you try?
