If you want to donate to MiSTer project.
MiSTer is fully open source project and will remain open.
This is my hobby and i'm getting fun to make hardware and software for this project. While software part just requires time, hardware requires money as well. To release a working add-on i have to make some test samples. Sometimes disaster happens and some equipment/device dies during experiments. Today i've lost my precious DE10-nano board. Couple days ago some other board has died during experiment. Some bought devices/components intended to be MiSTer companions turned to be useless. So i have to try many options before give advice to users.
I'm not a big fan of asking donation for hobby projects, but after several such incidents i've thought to make it. It's absolutely voluntary, you don't have to. But if you satisfied my work and would be glad to donate, then here is my paypal:
PayPal
Patreon

Re: If you want to donate to MiSTer project.
I just did too. Thank you again for this great project

Re: If you want to donate to MiSTer project.
Just sent few quid as well. Cheers!
Re: If you want to donate to MiSTer project.
Sorgelig - have you thought about building a bounty list? ie: we could post features and a bounty that we would pay to have them implemented.
Re: If you want to donate to MiSTer project.
I've sent a donation as well, I've found the whole project a great way to get motivated enough to learn electronics and fpga programming.
Thankyou and please keep up the excellent work!

Re: If you want to donate to MiSTer project.
Happy to help! Sent you something for that DE10-Nano.
Re: If you want to donate to MiSTer project.
Thank you guys!
Donations will cover my expenses for equipment and devices. Just at some point it started to require too much money. Since it's non-profitable project, donations is the only way to unload expenses partly.
This is not a good idea. It will turn the project to something like kickstarter. This will bound me with obligations and won't be a hobby anymore. If i can do something and it's suitable for MiSTer - i do this for free already. The stopping points in hobby usually is my capability to achieve it. Not the money.alanswx wrote:Sorgelig - have you thought about building a bounty list? ie: we could post features and a bounty that we would pay to have them implemented.

Just made a small donation.
Your contribution to this community is highly appreciated and since I cannot help on the FPGA development, at least I can buy you a couple of beers.
Thanks Sorgelig.

I agree that doing it kickstarter like would be terrible. I was just thinking we could post something like:Sorgelig wrote:This is not a good idea. It will turn the project to something like kickstarter. This will bound me with obligations and won't be a hobby anymore
$200 for AppleII floppy disk write support - and anyone who wanted to implement it could grab the bounty, do it, and once complete collect (via paypal) $200
or $200 for working serial port in ao486
The idea that you would be held to some kind of list of tasks does sound very un-hobby like. I was thinking there are a million of small upgrades that would be cool (Hopefully I will get around to making some of them) and maybe people who aren't as technical would be willing to kick in some money to make them happen.
Re: If you want to donate to MiSTer project.
Made a small donation too. Your work is really great and deserves it. I am a new member, but I already have a MiST and soon a MiSTer.

MISTER, MISTICA, Atari STE 4MB + Ultrasatan + Gotek.
Re: If you want to donate to MiSTer project.
You are free to announce it if it's legal by board rules. It's not related to me directly. I don't want to be a money manager and judge the results as it's completely out of my hobby scope.alanswx wrote: $200 for AppleII floppy disk write support - and anyone who wanted to implement it could grab the bounty, do it, and once complete collect (via paypal) $200

There is only one requirement - all open source cores should remain opened.
Re: If you want to donate to MiSTer project.
I sent a little, too. Thanks for all your great work and for sharing it!

Re: If you want to donate to MiSTer project.
Hi, this is my first post.
This week I bought a brand new DE10-nano board and a SDRAM board and I’m eagerly awaiting them to arrive. I’m sorry for your dead board. I just sent you a little donation that should cover the cost of a brand new DE10-nano replacement board. That’s nothing compared to the priceless effort and time you put in this marvellous and fascinating open source project (without considering the money you spent in prototypes boards).
Thank you very much Alexey.

And here is my second donation (I try to give a little every month).
Thanks for all that work
Thanks for all that work

Re: If you want to donate to MiSTer project.
Have you ever considered setting up a Patreon for the Mister project?
I personally fund several people using Patreon, and i would be happy to add your project too - i donate a small amount every month, but it's a fixed income you could count on reliably.
Just my .0002 cent.
