Re: New 6526 (CIA) Implementation for the C64 core
The 8580 is huge, 2 instances didn't fit in the FPGA. Now it's shrinked a bit again, without sound distortion, maybe it's possible now to have stereo 8580. Or any combination of the two (even 4 SIDS - hehe). Just have to think about how to present it to the OSD without cluttering it too much.
Btw, here's a test version which should fix crashes after the Turbo Outrun fix. Hope it works finally.

Tested this new versione and the Great Giana Sisters Intro bug seems doesn't manifest anymore.
So, thank you Slingshot for this correction to this fantastic core !

Re: New 6526 (CIA) Implementation for the C64 core
Wow, I haven't tried the C64 core updates but this looks fantastic! Big thanks! There is dual SID, AND 1541 for .dsk images? I have a MK2 board but only have a SIO2PC and no ultimate64 board nor cart. So this might actually save me some money too? If I get my keyrah C64 keyboard working with it I'd be all set.
I was just looking up if FPGASID was included in the SID shootout comparison blog (it is now) here: http://kompjut0r.blogspot.com
and then found this great news here for Mist.

Nice lots of SID options now
To test them out, can someone upload a collection of dual SID .d64 demos/audio disks please. I have been finding lots of info on the various Dual SID devices for physical C64's but I am having difficulty in actually finding disks to try out these new features.
Thanks

Get sid-wizard2sid. there's built in stuff or just look at the 2sid section of the hvsc for actual sid files. They should play back in stereo sid player or any of the other progs. I haven't run into problems with it in sid wizard yet.Higgy wrote:Nice lots of SID options now

Rayne posted an Update for the 6526 on mist-fpga.net, that fixes some more issues:

I attach the patch here.
