Yes, last version sometimes it gives error accessing the SD and it is necessary to restart, it passes with all the variants of SDRAM.

Re: [Solved] MiST Hardware Revisions? MSX-Core-Problem
Me too, latest version bug MSX-Core.
Re: [Solved] MiST Hardware Revisions? MSX-Core-Problem
Same here... Sometimes when i load a rom or dsk, it says "disk drive a: not ready", then i abort, try again and then it loads ok.
Re: [Solved] MiST Hardware Revisions? MSX-Core-Problem
Got that problem with the latest core version. I reverted to one version prior and it's fine.
Re: [Solved] MiST Hardware Revisions? MSX-Core-Problem
Newsdee, can you send me a link of your version? please

Re: [Solved] MiST Hardware Revisions? MSX-Core-Problem
Is there a solution to the Disk Error access on SD Card for new MIST ?
PS.It's my first post, sorry for my poor english. I'm a new MIST user.

Re: [Solved] MiST Hardware Revisions? MSX-Core-Problem
if you get the drive not ready error, try the core revision linked above
Re: [Solved] MiST Hardware Revisions? MSX-Core-Problem
The previous core works only on old mist, not on new ones.

Re: [Solved] MiST Hardware Revisions? MSX-Core-Problem
It is a shame that this and the Archimedes cores only work on MiST's which have been sprinkled with FPGA holy water
I am sure there is the knowledge here to get them working with all boards.

Re: [Solved] MiST Hardware Revisions? MSX-Core-Problem
1chipMSX board core and its source was updated yesterday with a lot of bugfixes and new features: http://gnogni.altervista.org/
v3.3.1 [2017.03.16] [KdL's Updates!]
- Updated the scripts to compile and collect the firmwares.
- Fixed the issue of VGMPlay by improving the accuracy of H-SYNC signal, thanks to Grauw.
v3.3 [2017.03.12] [KdL's Updates!]
- Updated documentation and DIP-SW User Manual in the [docs\] folder.
- Updated the [msxtools\] folder: use 'eset.com' to add more drive letters and 'ep.com' to mount the disk images.
- New Hex-files 304kB from OCM-SDBIOS Pack v1.9 with MSX3 Final Release and Zemmix Neo logos.
- New IPL-ROM Revision 1.05(K) that it loads fast a 304kB BIOS / 384kB SDBIOS.
- New SDHC support by yuukun-OKEI, thanks to MAX.
- New useful scripts for easy compilation and collection of firmwares.
- Added Brazilian keyboard layout by Fabio Belavenuto, Luis Luca and Emiliano Vaz Fraga.
- Fixed R#0 S5 timing of VDP TH9958 by yuukun: the intro of Dragon Quest 2 MSX2 is ok now, thanks to miyashu.
- Fixed RstEna signal with regression and other minor fixes (RC2_2014.11.20).
- Fixed MainRAM/MegaRAM clear function (RC1_2014.11.16).
Notes:
- The Nextor kernel will be natively supported by future releases.
- As regards the speed of cpu I inform you that 'custom 8.06 MHz' is the same 10.74 MHz of the original firmware.
All the 'custom speed' frequencies were acquired with a comparison benchmark through blueMSX and openMSX.
- The initial VDP-V9938 core is finally deprecated since the VDP-TH9958 has achieved the same stability.
and caro, the maintainer of the Altera DE1 port (from where the Mist core was ported) did a new release on January http://caro.su/msx/ocm_de1.htm

Re: [Solved] MiST Hardware Revisions? MSX-Core-Problem
MSX2 and MSX2+ carts and disks work very well. Try using ROMLOAD or EXECROM.jaildesigner wrote:I can't wait!

I'm using ocmsx_141022_r364.rbf. But I think MSX core must be redone, updated and fixed.

Re: [Solved] MiST Hardware Revisions? MSX-Core-Problem
First, thanks Salva for your help, but after wasting two hours of my time I give up this nosense.
Thousands of drive errors, and when I manage to load something, it's not working. Romload seems to have the same results as the MM interface. Execrom sometimes is not able to see the MegaRAM cart. I can't play Aleste, Bubble Bobble, Zanac or Space Manbow
I managed to load the first disk of Aleste 2 but I have no idea how to swap disks.
I almost broke my Mist powering on and off trying to have some progress.

Re: [Solved] MiST Hardware Revisions? MSX-Core-Problem
The MSX Core is not an emulator !
But it is a real OneChipMSX substitute, and like the real machine the cartridge roms are loaded via software through the use of various tools: ExecRom, MGLoad, Execrom, Loadrom, ODO (for 48k roms), etc...
Every rom use a mapper and if the autoload function of the rom loader doesn't work it's necessary specific some parameters to the sintax, for example:
Select the Megaram in the SLOT1 :
> EXECROM /R2 AUFMONTY.ROM
> EXECROM ALESTE.ROM
Select the ESE SCC in SLOT1:
> ROMLOAD SMANBOW.ROM /S
> ROMLOAD XEVIOUS /1 /S
Select ESE RAM 1MB/ASCII 16 in SLOT2:
> MGLOAD ADVKID.ROM /S02
> RESET
These are only few examples, remember that games roms are best ones tested from Tosec.
I own a Real Toshiba MSX2 machine with MegaFlashRom 512 SCC and i load the rom games in this mode when the autoload of MultiMente don't works.
For Disk games there is another procedure that that at the time I forgot.
The OneChipMSX is an MSX2 Plus (19.000 colours and smooth orizzontal scrolling).
I had used this Core on Chameleon64 and i think is one of the best cores because it replicates a real MSX very accurately.
The software compatibility is the same of a real MSX2+, so some games never works. These are mainly MSX1 Disk games: Wec Le Mans, Skramble, Mr Wong, Rock & Bolt. Even some games have been patched.
Enjoy MSX OCM Core !

Anyone knows when is going to release a new update?
Thank you.

Well, nobody is now maintaining this core. Hope somebody will continue updating it.barbaro00 wrote:Anyone knows when is going to release a new update?

Somebody has tested this Core on new MIST 1.3+ ?
Are there the same disk errors ?
Thanks

Re: [Solved] MiST Hardware Revisions? MSX-Core-Problem
I'm curious. The MSX core is still not working properly due to disk errors on a Mist v1.3. Any ideas how to solve this?
Re: [Solved] MiST Hardware Revisions? MSX-Core-Problem
2 years have passed, sorry that a valid MSX core cannot be used on the newer Mist for a bug of disk access. I had asked if it was possible to port the Core available on the MISTer but no one is interested or simply porting is not possible.
MSX is one of the best 8 bit of eighties, a lot of arcade very playable games are available on this platform.
That's a pity.
