Hahaha... thanks for that extremely warm welcome. It's good to be here. It was just a coincidence that i stumbled upon this. I was checking out the STNICCC page for a bit and saw the link to the forum.
It's great to see so many people who still remembers the Atari, the scene and everything around it.
Reading all the posts really throws me back memory lane. Good days they were. I'm looking forward in catching up with all the people I used to know (and that I perhaps might get to know here) and I am very curious of the various 'post ST'-stories that you all must have. AND your 'pre-ST'-stories too, of course... well... and your ST-stories also, naturally...

It is very flattering that you even remember us from TCB after so many years, and it's great to see that the Atari has a place in so many people's hearts still. I actually got an Atari tattoo made... along with a FreeBSD daemon and my initials and date of birth in binary code. Cor, am I an nerd or what?
Why not tattoo a Carebear, you say? Well... one major reason really - i hate them. My oldest daughter keeps watching The Carebears on TV all the time, and it makes my stomach turn. It's so awfully cute in some kind of obnoxious american way... which is why we chose the name in the first place. Everyone were naming their groups with cool macho names such as The Replicants, The Overlanders, The Exceptions, Delta Force, The Lost Boys etc etc etc. We just felt that the scene desperately needed a counter weight to all that cool stuff...

Anyway. Great to be here... thank you all again for such a warm welcome.

Hey bod. Yep. I am still in touch with Nick and Jas. We don't talk very often, but I'm gonna meet them in a couple of days or so. I haven't talked to An Cool for ages. Don't have an email addy to him, and his name is a little too common to look up in the phone book, I'm afraid.
Nick is still coding advanced medical equipment for laboratories together with Jas, even though Jas is taking it more and more easy with that... I can tell you more after I've met them.

Hehe... Alcoholica... I can't even remember how or why we got that started. I guess that was some kind of manly 'bonding thing'. Sprog, Spaz and I are still real close friends... so I guess the bonding bit really worked. Weird.

Advanced Medical Equipment? The only ones in the world with pictures of carebears, sync scrolling, sound-chip music (got to be "Please Wait" from Wings of Death) - all whilst the results are worked out

Yes... An Cool did loads of smaller things on his own. But I feel that was definately the way to go. TCB were a little more 'thorough' than An Cool as an individual, so I think An Cool got restless at times and just wanted to do small fun and quick things. He never aimed to break some kind of record in his 'private' demos, he did them only because he thought it was fun at the time.
And some of them have quite a few real fun bits in them.

I just looked around the web for Atari ST related stuff and had a trip down memory lane when finding this board.

I lost track of AN Cool when he went to the states many years ago. Any news about him since then? Is he back in Sweden? The last time we had any contact was when he did the music for our competiton entry at the Amiga-party...which I now don't even remember the name of...the summer of '94.

Hi Tanis,

Just wanted to add my welcome, as a kid coding in my bedroom I used to sit for hours scratching my head trying to work out how you and TLB, Tex etc did all your stuff... it inspired me to take my 68000 coding seriously and I ended up as a games programmer.

Finding this site is like some sort of therapy all those coding tricks I could never work out are all available to me now

Illegal: An Cool is back in Sweden. I haven't talked to him since he returned, but I've heard he's doing good. The last thing I heard is that he is still working for the same company that had an office in the U.S... but that might not be true.

AEX: Hehe... well.. I don't see Nick, Jas and An Cool being up for the task. Still, I am seeing Nick and Jas in a week or so. I'll ask them. I will also ask for the secret password to the Junk Demo hidden screen... even though I personally can't recall that they ever put one in... but then again - it was a long time ago. I'll ask, just to make sure.

Arch: Hi and thanks. It is always great to hear that we helped inspiring people to start fiddling with computers instead of going out and do sports or do hiking or any other 'in-nature' and healthy activity.
