Re: News on my GEM games

@krupkaj: thanks. Sorry but DM2 is not in my projects. I took a huge amount of time using an Ultimate Ripper and scan the ingame memory to retreive all graphics. Lost my stamina to death doing that. I see there are now some convenient extractors . Technically, I can do a DM2 version (256 colors mini...

Re: News on my GEM games

- NDVI or fVDI is strongly advised to obtain correct screen informations (such as number of colors and pixel structure). - with TC16 or TC32 screenmode, even in 256 colors, the graphics take a huge amount of RAM. If your saw black, I think the game could not load the graphics due to a lack of RAM. S...

Re: News on my GEM games

DGEM 1.2B : blog or directly - fix: a cache file could be empty if one of the memory block was exactly 24000*nb_plan& bytes. This happened in the 16 colors screenmode, some of the raster loaded from the cache were displayed corrupted. Sorry about this update. I found this bug causing possible nasty...

No batch function in KKcmd. May be an idea for new developments (GEMScript ?), but I have very little time and already a big project to code.

Re: NVDI & character mapping

It's old, sorry if my memory fails: Unicode is supported in NVDI 5 (not in 3).

I have study this subject a little, in order to support i18n in my atari email client Troll: http://ptonthat.fr/tiniconv-ldg/

If you can read the GFA source, you'll find some hints.

I did and it's working on my FireBee setup, with my very small MOD collection.

Still working on my "reloaded" project, but I afraid I can't propose any release before several months. Adding levels 2 to 5 means a huge graphics work and I have few free time to do it at the moment. More time next year.

Re: Sim City inside Mint

The ST game may be a GEM application, it stucks with ST low resolution and I think it's not clean enough to run under MiNT and enhanced GEM screenmodes. Better rewrite it with care or make an adaptation from the source code : http://micropolisonline.com/ The wiki page of SimCity says "In January 200...

I'm not sure why but sometimes it has trouble transferring files from my Windows ftp server. I had sometimes this kind of freeze randomly on some files. My setup is FireBee (client Litchi, MiNTnet, IP on DHCP) and MacBook (macOS internal ftp server, fixed IP). - verify you have the latest MiNTnet f...

Re: Mintnet FTP client please!

There are 2 versions of aFTP : one for MiNTnet, one for STinG/STiK There is only one version of Litchi: MiNTnet is used if present, or STinG otherwise. Thanks to lp, the MiNTnet API is used directly, but the resolve function is not present in the API, so the user still has to install GlueSTiK (just ...

Re: News on my GEM games

Its a bit slow on the FireBee but with possible graphic card you think it would run faster? - it's a bit slow in TC32 screenmode, but still acceptable, at least for me (compared to the ST original version). - it's pretty smooth in 256c screenmode. I don't like to swap/change screenmodes for one app...

Then you should change your sources of informations. Facebook may not be a good idea.
If you understand French language: http://www.amiga-ng.org and http://www.amigaimpact.org/
I'm sure there are same websites in English and German.

Re: Apollo Team announces developing of Vampire standalone version to run as AMIGA and ATARI ST

Look at New Genaration Amiga - it hasn't become a part of Amiga community. It was marginal from beginning and it remain marginal. Why? Because absence of valuable software (comparing to amount of classic software). Except AmigaOS 4.x - practically nothing has bean created for PPC. I suggest you loo...

@Marakatti: I'm searching/asked for sounds effects, not music. My options at the moment are: - work on a game capture youtube video, if one exists with music turned off. - use UAE/Amiga version and search for an utilitary to look/rip the RAM (Thanks AtariZoll). Thanks.

Re: Ishar 1 & 2

Dungeon Master and Ishar use VDL tricks to display more than 16 colors. You can see that at "sundown": view is darkened during the night (Ishar), or when your torches burnt out (DM). Still, party icons and lifebars remain undarkened. Thus, from the view zone, you can determine where on the screen th...

Re: Apollo Team announces developing of Vampire standalone version to run as AMIGA and ATARI ST

Oxymoron? Not really. Look at the MIST we have already, you can just start whichever core you like to use. So it "could" be the 110% atari/amiga/etc. compatible core, or the 1e99 times faster 68k, with some enhancements. Your choice, on the same hardware. Thus you have to choose between Compatibili...

I wonder why retro community would buy something that move itself out of retro space.

From my point of vue, Compatibility and Enhancement is oxymoron. If you want both, then you'd better search for real unicorns.
