Re: MegaFile 44 - what sort of interface?
Hmmm ... the guy has $45 on postage, it has no cables ... if I can get it for $50 sounds like it might be worth it.

MegaFile 44 - what sort of interface?
Hi All.. Just wondering if the MegaFile 44 (which uses SyQuest 44mb carts) is a standard SCSI beast or is it one of those old MFM/RLL drives like the rest of the MegaFile series? I ask because one is up for auction, and I thought that if it's standard SCSI I could unplug the SyQuest mechanism and us...

Re: Just got my Discovery cart, but I can't get it to do jack
The Spectre 128 is just a cart with the two 128k ROMs (2x64k?) out of a Mac. The Magic Sac was the older type with the 64k ROMs. So a discovery cart with the ROMs in it will work exactly as a Spectre would. Great piece of kit back in the day, nowadays people pay you money to take the old macs away :(

Dark SC1224
Hi people I've got a SC1224 here on my desk, and even with brightness and contrast wound all the way up, it's still looking like 20-30% of brightness. Now before I get too excited about fixing it/getting it fixed, is it more likely the picture tube is shot, or is it likely to be the power input caps...

Re: klapauzius.net is online
Yeah the dutch still do. Don't know why but I ended up with a middle name after Santa Claus - Sint Nicolaas in dutch, hence the middle name of Nicolaas ... Sinterklaas (also called Sint-Nicolaas or De Goedheiligman in Dutch) and Saint Nicolas in French) is a traditional holiday figure in the Netherl...

Re: ATARI ST IDE INTERFACE V2.00 & FLASHABLE TOS EXPANSION
So if I understand this right, Atari had IDE support in 2.0x series of TOS, then took it out for 3.0x series and then put it back in for the 4.0x series? No wonder they went down the tube

Alrighty ...
I would see this on a white shirt, with black bomb with edges slightly blurred in grey gradient, or on black shirt, white bomb, again edges faded/antialiased
have it in a scalable vector format if you want it. (quiet day at work - nice to play with inkscape

Re: ATARI ST IDE INTERFACE V2.00 & FLASHABLE TOS EXPANSION
One last question - ppera - why did you have to patch 2.06 to get it to autoboot ide? I thought 2.06 already supported this? Patch of TOS 2.06 is required for booting from twisted IDE. And with patch, booting is faster in case that no drive attached. ... Flash EPROM in Falcon ? It would be little h...

popsel, you're a unit (in a really good way that is!). Is there a version in the pipeline for the STe (plcc socket version)? Please!? And how much for one already built? One thing I forgot to ask... looking at the pictures, it looks like the board piggy backs onto the 68000 instead of removing the c...

KiwiArcader - where did you get that Mega4!? I'm jealous. :) If you're after disks, do a search also for Amiga floppies - exactly the same beasties. There's a guy over here at the moment selling a box of 400+ on eprey for $70. A bit pricey, but gives you an idea on what to look for anyway. cheers ka...

Re: Using Steem to run hardware synths
kola - the VGA to monochrome cable should work on any TFT (LCD) screen as long as it supports VGA standard (640*480). The ST high was almost standard, unlike the ST Low and Med which are basically equivalent to CGA, which is now defunct, hence why you don't get Atari Color support on new LCDs. On th...

Will a PC floppy drive converted to run in a ST format and use HD disks as DD successfully? EG, will the drive drop the power when writing the 720K format onto a HD disk? Not completely sure KiwiArcader. I do know however that many PC drives can be fixed (change drive 1 to drive 0 indicator) to wor...
