JOUST WAS THE FIRST ST GAME I PLAYED, STILL A TOP GAME OF MYN NOW! Ouch! My poor ears! I love Joust but I have a problem with the ST version. Your steed flies far to high on a single flap. I'm sure they did this on purpose to counter the different button style on a joystick as apposed to an a...

dreamsnes, eh? If you've still got your dc you should check some of the emulators out. NESter is near perfect nes emulation, NEOGEO4ALL has surprisingly good NEOGEO (duh!) emulation.. Frodo can run at a reasonable rate and the speccy, coleco, atari 8 bit, vcs, megadrive and master system emus are al...

DCaSTaway with games

Hi, I have a dreamcast. I also have an ST. The ST is packed away in the attic for the time being and the dreamcast is not. So to alleviate my ST loss woes, Some kind person wrote an ST emulator, just for me*. How nice! Anyway, here's my compilation (an older version of DCaSTaway (no sampled sound) w...

There is a chap over on the yakyak forums (interestingly enough the same guy who did Starball on the ST) that is (or may no longer be) working on a Jag emulator. It currently runs T2K (and at reasonable frame-rate even on my 1.7Ghz Athlon!) and VLM only. Here's the link : http://www.yakyak.org/viewt...

It seems that a chap/ess by the name of zeusgb has put quite a few ST demos on (and thanks to him/her for that!).. Found that whilst facebooking for 'Atari ST', which shows facebook comes in useful sometimes..

Wings of death for me. It's be ages since I played it so it'd be interesting to see how I do now as opposed to back then (which wasn't very good. At all). Esp using a keyboard (so, should need arise, I can grab a screen shot and not because my ste's up in the attic).

A chap with 16 bit issues.. Which brings up the question; If there were one, would he love the Sinclair QL version of dizzy?

Interesting that he finds dizzy poo after so many plays (and then awards it 5 out of 10). I realised that with the first demo I played on the old speccy.

Indeed, shadow of the beast didn't play like enchanted lands (which, er, did have slanted floors). I think even most amiga owners will admit that sotb as a game wasn't very good. It just looked nice.

But what do I know?

My memory is a little hazy, but I thought you could play it on an STe if you pressed fire as soon as it loaded up. The 'bum copy' part came up after the first screen. I could be wrong, though.

Fair do, but if someone's going to think to search for "atari st demo" on you tube then they'd have a pretty good idea about what the old grey beast is capable of. As you say amiga fanboys won't know and never will, so let's just hope they don't breed  .... Go on then, as I've NO IDEA about ho...

There are loads of tunes out there in the SNDH database that really do need a makeover - i.e. David Whittaker stuff, I'm especially thinking of his "action" tunes. Bloody awful dirges (but easy to rip!) :) Aw, c'mon.. Starray, Weird Dreams tune 4, Platoon tune 5, Speedball, Goldrunner 2 (er, tune 1...

Yeah sorry megaupload seems awkward Leonard but as PaulB says, it's pretty straight forward and (apart from a casino ad) it's a good way to upload/download files.. I discovered it from a massive (and on going) dreamcast download session! It does the job :D

Jeff Minter's Llamatron is definitely worth a bash and I also loved Gridrunner. St Dragon wasn't a bad conversion. Goldrunner is a nice smooth vertical blaster. Also, I think it was sinister developments that did a good version of centipede and galaxians (but I could be wrong there). Oh and Stardust...

Zipstick. Awesome joystick.. Plus it had karma - My amiga owning mate had two (paid for) and they were fantastic, great rate of autofire, precise movement, felt nice etc. I bought one from lapd, my cheque bounced, it didn't go left properly all the time. Surely the exception that proves the rule. Gr...
