Re: Oriiginal ST

It would be nice if we could add one of the motherboard pics to the wiki:

http://www.atari-forum.com/wiki/index.p ... _revisions

Would that be ok?!

Re: I got my 1040STfm but there's problems - Need help!

Atari STs check for a floppy disk to boot from so inserting one prior to turning on is the usual way... If you don't insert a floppy disk, after 40 seconds or so, the computer will go to the green GEM desktop. So, yep, it's normal! Yes, you need to use the mouse or ALT+cursor keys to move the mouse ...

Re: Marcer's Game DVD goes Public (nearly)

Sorry to hear about the family problems... never good.

Any chance of you zipping up the DVD into 1 or 2 files?

I have a synology diskstation that doesn't seem to support recursive folder
leeching...

thanks

Re: ATARI STe without COLOURS!?!?

Why not! Not all good quality but I took over years pictures. Must have STF 512 & 1024, STE early (with piggy back fix), STE "standard", STE latest with many circuit made for Atari, and Mega 1 Where should I put it? Quality isn't too important, I take them down to 150K - as long as the motherboard ...

Re: ATARI STe without COLOURS!?!?

Huh? can't be. Could it be you have a Never Twice Same Colour system ? Seriously, only thing I can think of is that may be Atari TV modulator is PAL or NTSC and not your TV set. However, your friend's TV set is the correct system (or can auto detect and change?) Actually, this sounds correct....

Re: STe/STfm cases interchangeable?

I'm thinking of buying a cheap 1040STf[m] in order to get its top part of the case. Does anyone know if this is possible? There might be some people with spares on here, I think the top part of the plastic cover will be ok (maybe the disk drive might cause a problem on earlier types)... The lower p...

Just upload it as an attachment here and someone will add it to the twiki :) That's what I did. I'll do it - I've, sort of, taken ownership of that wiki area. If you're having trouble uploading, PM me and I'll give you an email address to send it to and I'll resize and add to the wiki... Thought yo...

Hi,

Since you've opened the ST, could you take a photo of the whole motherboard for
our wiki?

See here:

that would be great - I can upload it to here then:

I'm sure PP047 was a 32 colour picture... which I'm guessing you needed to do some clever stuff for.

This might be why you are having problems grabbing it!

Re: Dead 520STFM?

Its a C10375 Rev 1 motherboard, and underneath the shielding is a mess where the ramcard has been wired and soldered onto the board. TOS chips are C300685-002a Assume you mean C103 1 75? I think my latest ST has the same upgrade: "XTRA - RAM Deluxe. 1991 Frontier Software" RAM_upgrade.jpg You can a...

Here's one of my STEs. I don't think we have a picture of this type yet. It has the integrated blitter and square DMA chip. The machine was in a hell of a state when I bought it on ebay but simbo brought it back to life! :) Have added this Frank... but can't make out the number, I assume a 'C' is h...

Re: Dead 520STFM?

memory problem for sure I'm not au fait with ST inner workings, this ST has the memory modules sat in a ram card inbetween the transformer and the floppy drive, sat ontop of the metal shielding. Is this normal? Because it looks added to me. If it's a 520STFM then that is almost certainly a memory u...

IK++ in Retrogamer magazine.

Ok, sorry if this has been mentioned before, but did anyone else read the Archer Maclean interview that stated he'd produced IK++ for the Atari ST?

Has anyone contacted him asking whether he would release it?

Thanks

Re: About saying 'pretends to be English' :-)

How about 'An Historic' and 'A Hotel' if you want to get really confused. :D As I understand it, the 'H' is silent, and the following letter takes precedence. 'An' is used with words starting with a vowel, 'An Otter,' 'An Apple' and alike. So should we all be saying 'An Hotel?' :) "Oh look, there's...
