Re: zview maintainer

So a new function would be needed to open the correct vdi printer device (might not be 21), scale the image to the correct resolution and send to the printer.

This function would have to be attached like the others in menu.c MenuDesktop

I did try to build zView a few years ago but never succeeded.

Re: zview maintainer

There are other issues in zView like zoom in several steps and then zoom out again and you can't get back to 100% but it is a minor one. Printing isn't trivial otherwise everyone would implement it. I thought some sort of one-stop plug-in that provides the essential Printing feature might make it ea...

Re: zview maintainer

Thanks Lonny, I have added it as a feature request on zView. I was pondering whether something like an SLB could be created with most of the standard printer functions in it (printer dialogue, printer connection etc.). It might make it easier to add printing support to other applications like zView,...

zview maintainer

Is anyone currently maintaining zView ? It would be great if we could get printing support added. I wonder if some of the qed print support could be lifted and shifted but that then made me think if a printer support library could be created ? The idea would be to bundle the code for calling up the ...

Re: Papyrus 5

I bought Players when it first came out and upgrade to 8.23 over the years.

It is one of the best applications ever written. It knocks spots off Msword.

Even without grammar support an English version would we will worth having. A great shame they don't offer a new version.

Re: Arduino USB keyboard adapter ?

I want to be able to use a wireless keyboard and mouse and there are virtually no ps/2 ones around these days. The cheap one I have isn't very nice to type on.

Arduino USB keyboard adapter ?

I wondered if anyone had used an Arduino to connect a USB keyboard/mouse to a computer with ps/2 sockets. I found the exact opposite, ps/2 keyboard for USB computer but it I wonder if it could be reversed ? http://dduino.blogspot.co.uk/2011/11/arduino-ps2-emulator-computer-control.html https://www.y...

Re: Milan ATI

I think the x86 emu is in the bootblock part of the ROM, which is 44k, is that big enough for the emu ?

The Rage board I have is labelled ATi D33053 RV6P NB3. I can't remember how long I waited when I tried it but it didn't seem to boot the graphics at all.

Re: Milan ATI

Who would know about the x86 emulator used in the Milan ?

Was it just plugged in or was it heavily modified to run in the Milan boot sequence ?

I am just wondering if it could be updated, if there is a later version of the same emu.

I was only thinking a few days ago that it would be nice to get the Radeon card to boot in the Milan. I gather the DOS emulator isn't up to it.

Re: Apollo Team announces developing of Vampire standalone version to run as AMIGA and ATARI ST

I hear that the Apollo will have extra instructions, AMMX, which I gather are for faster video. Does the Coldfire have anthing similar ?

It would be a lot to ask the Coldfire designers to add support to the CPU but worth asking if it is so beneficial.

Re: Apollo Team announces developing of Vampire standalone version to run as AMIGA and ATARI ST

I really like my Milan, it's a pity it wasn't more popular. I have the 68060 upgrade but you can never have too much cpu power. A Coldfire upgrade would have been nice but if an Apollo 68080 plugin cpu was available offering a good speed increase I would be interested. I remember hearing rumours of ...

Re: PH PDF Maker beta 3

Always happy to help with testing. It's a Milan with 060 as well.

I also tied Luna (editor) and it created a pdf that I could view in zView (it did crash Porthos, some PDFs do that).

Re: PH PDF Maker beta 3

I'm using Mint on a Milan. I couldn't work out how to make QED use device 23 so I tried Papyrus that offers NVDI: PHPDF It produced a PDF file but when opened in zView each page contains just the top left corner of the text (1/2 width , 1/3 height of A4). a V_OPENWORK nvdi v503 108 fonts 300dpi VQ_E...

Re: PH PDF Maker beta 3

Sorry, I should have realised there should be 2 log files. I installed the new version and had some success, the fonts are loaded (below). I tried to print from Everest but Everest crashed out. On the second attempt the Milan hung so I had to reboot. Nvdi v503 the font path = [C:\TTFONTS\] number of...

Re: PH PDF Maker beta 3

BT_Fonts contains folder totalling 40 fonts. TT_Fonts contains folders of 86 fonts. I don't know how many FontPaths NVDI allows but I originally created 2 and then edited nvdi.inf to add the second path. Thanks for the quick updates. I will give it a go. The log file is as: a V_OPENWORK Speedo v0 0 ...

Re: PH PDF Maker beta 3

I re-ran phpdf but these are the only files created on C:\

PHPDF.IDX
PHPDF.LOG
PHPDFF.LOG

In nvdi.cnf I have 2 font paths:

FIFPATH = C:\BTFONTS\
FONTPATH = C:\BTFONTS\
FONTPATH = C:\TTFONTS\

Thanks.

Re: PH PDF Maker beta 3

It's a genius idea, a pity more apps don't have better printer dialogues. I installed and set assign.sys to use device 71 but couldn't get any pdf to generate from Everest (it lets you set the device). I also tried device 23. There is no c:\phpdffnt.dat either. I don't think it's detecting the nvdi ...

Re: ext3 or ext4 support in FreeMiNT?

I asked about ext3 and 4 on the mint list several years ago but I don't think it was answered. It would be a big improvement to have the xfs updated to support journalling. Should the machine crash it takes far too long to check the fs on even modest partitions and in most cases there are no issues ...

Re: NEW IDE Controller & TOS 2.06 board (with extras)

With the low profile sockets, you don't need to remove the existing 68000. Just solder the 32 pin low profile sil sockets to the current legs of the 68000 and then, low profile sil header is soldered on the IDE board. They mate nicely and keep the IDE very close to the 68000 and underneath the keyb...

ST spotting

I was just watching a programme on BBC 4 about the music single (45rpm).

About 5 minutes in, there is Fat Boy Slim (I think) with an Atari on his desk.
