Re: Simple calendar app

I would like to change the events from text to buttons, rather like hyperlinks. This is so the event can be opened and to use bubble help. I can't find an example of adding buttons to a window in objectGem. Also I don't know if I can create a button in the rsc and then make lots of copies of it in c...

Re: HD Driver : ext2 in new Drive

I seem to recall the Milan can be started from the second IDE by pressing 2 during boot up. I can't remember the details but it would help testing.

Re: HD Driver : ext2 in new Drive

It is marked as LNX I just did that to highlight it.

I don't have many symbolic links, really just the bare minimum for Mint to work.

Maybe we need a 1-20 release so people don't use these ancient versions.

Re: IDE -> sata adapter

I had a search for the pinouts, they are very different. It was a bit of a tongue-in-cheek suggestion, well beyond my skills.

Sata drives are about a quarter of the price of pata drives and go beyond 750GB which seems to be the upper limit for ide.

Re: IDE -> sata adapter

I don't suppose that Intel 82371FB could be upgraded to a later one (SB or AB) by some soldering whizz ?

Probably different packages, pinouts.

What did they use in the Milan II prototypes ?

In HD Driver they look the same apart from the increased sizes. Both are Seagate 160GB drives of slightly different ages.

Re: HD Driver : ext2 in new Drive

The two drives have the same partitions

C D E F G h
I J K L M n

So the fstab on each drive is the same.

Yes it is puzzling that it works as the second drive but not the primary.

I am currently using Mint build d4a.

Re: ext2 in new Drive

I though I spotted the mistake in fstab which had the access 777 on H but only has 700 on N

With N set to 777 it still drops to the MiS console with:

unitsize (32768) too small (clsizb=1757680)

HD Driver : ext2 in new Drive

I have just partitioned an IDE drive with HD Driver 10.14, mke2fs on the h: partition and copied everything from the existing drive. All good so far. When I install the driver as a secondary, IDE slave the Milan boots up and I can access the original primary and the new drive. However, if the drives...

No new features in recent builds I have been improving the code structure to make it easier to add more features.

Re: IDE -> sata adapter

I just wondered if anyone makes a pci->sata adapter and Startech do make one but it only has one internal sata and one external e-sata port and it would need a driver. There are more options on a pci-express interface but that wouldn't fit in the Milan however they do make a pci->pci express adapter...

Which slots do you have them in ?

Simple calendar app

I've been using the last of my furlough time to create a simple app for displaying ICS (iCal) files in a calendar. It is Pure Pascal with ObjectGEM which I have never done much with so it is very much an Alpha at this time. https://github.com/ps68060/GEMiCal It does have a slight memory leak but I h...

Re: EmuTOS and Milan60

I've never tried BigDOS either, I thought it was like HD Driver.

It looks like it has a 2GB limit. I've got 10GB partitions.

In my tests the eof flag is Never being set no matter where it is tested this results in reading beyond the end of the file.

EOF didn't work so I had to test for a 0 in the returned content. It looks like PP eof only works in text files.

Is there any other way to access large partitions from TOS ?

EmuTOS and Milan60

Which is the correct EmuTOS for running on a Milan ?

I downloaded emutos-prg-0.9.12.zip and tried running emutos.prg and emutosuk.prg both cause and immediate lock-up.

I was hoping that EmuTOS might be able to access the large partitions that Milan TOS cannot access.

Re: Pure Pascal EOF

I had to handle the end of the file by testing for zero in the value returned. Luckily this is ascii so that works.

Does anyone have a list of the Pure Pascal runtime error codes ?
