Re: 1040STf chip location help wanted

Why don't you use Brain 1.0?
Take any ST schematic and you'll see that MMU's GND are located on pins 27 and 61. GLUE's GND is on pin 35.
Now take a Multimeter/Ohmmeter and check which socket is which.
-912 is MMU, -915 is GLUE.
Easy, isn't it :?:

Re: Enhanced GEM and popup menu

Seems I got it. I had to install an event handler to react to the cycle button event. Event_Handler(EventInit, EventHandler); static int EventInit(XEVENT* inCycleButtonEvent, int inEventMask) { (void) inEventMask; inCycleButtonEvent->ev_mflags = MU_MESAG; return MU_MESAG; } static int EventHandler(X...

Enhanced GEM and popup menu

I have almost completed my GEM application just one more thing to do. I'm using EnhancedGEM Lib 2.20 and Pure C 1.1. I have included a popup via cycle button selection. This is a screenshot of an EGEM demo application: https://i.ibb.co/nk9vrQQ/EGEM.gif When I select an item of the popup menu itself ...

Re: drawing pixels on ST - with or without atari game tools problems

I found a C example in that book for setting pixels: uint16_t pixel[] = { 0x8000, 0x4000, 0x2000, 0x1000, 0x0800, 0x0400, 0x0200, 0x0100, 0x0080, 0x0040, 0x0020, 0x0010, 0x0008, 0x0004, 0x0002, 0x0001 }; set320x200(uint16_t x, uint16_t y, uint32_t start, uint16_t colour) { uint32_t ptr; uint16_t* ad...

Re: drawing pixels on ST - with or without atari game tools problems

Use XBIOS Logbase()/Pysbase() to get the screen memory's start address. Screen memory is organised as 16000 words (16bit) as this: https://i.ibb.co/8gqMb2P/ST-LOW.gif Each pixel's colour is based on four consecutive words. With XBIOS Setcolor()/Setpalette() you can set a single colour or the whole p...

Re: Pure C & EnhancedGEM lib

I'm afraid you got me wrong. Let's say there is a getenv() in a PureC lib and there is (obviously) a getenv() in EGEM. Now I link this PureC lib and EGEM lib against my main() and one of my functions uses getenv() directly or a PureC function calls it. Which getenv() will be called? The PureC or the...

Re: Pure C & EnhancedGEM lib

Looks really like e_gem.lib has its own version of getenv(). Yes, it has its own version - embedded in TOOL.C (with #ifdef __PUREC__ around it). But if I would use a function embedded in PCSTDLIB.LIB that calls (its) getenv) and use EGEM.LIB wouldn't this result in another linker error like "doubly...

Re: drawing pixels on ST - with or without atari game tools problems

I hear you :D
So, 320x200x4?
I have a book (German) that came with a lib (ASM source) that works in ST-LOW only.
Unfortunately the book is the tutorial and the ASM code is probably not self-explanatory.
What C compiler do you use?

Tell us: what resolution (ST-HIGH,ST-MED,ST-LOW,...)?

BTW: what primitives (lines, circles, rectangles,...) do you need also?

Pure C & EnhancedGEM lib

Hello, I got a Pure C/EnhancedGEM lib problem. My PRJ file and the EGEM PRJ file both contain the parameter -P for absolute calls. I even use -G (optimise for size) in my PRJ (as EGEM), too. Nevertheless I get these linker errors: https://i.ibb.co/WyGmWFv/EGEM.gif And guess what the manual says abou...

Re: ORCS 2.17

Another issue: MSTE TOS2.06, 4MB 16MHz mode, no NVDI. I load my RSC in ORCS. Double click on one of my Alertboxes. Window opens with its properties. Cursor is placed on "Name:" property. I press [Backspace] on keyboard and ORCS answers with two bombs. Is this a "terrorist's application" with all the...

Good hint... but didn't change anything:

Why do you expect a Pure C version of CFLIB to be run under a filesystem with long filenames if Pure C itself doesn't require that :?:

Enhanced GEM lib & radio buttons

Okay guys, I almost got what I wanted. Started yesterday evening with EnhancedGEM Lib 2.20 and got mixed results. I used ob_disable(..) to disable the "Slot 1" and "Slot 5" to "Slot 8" items. What I got was that the disabled items were disabled but "Slot 4" item was put in a greyed state that was se...

Re: Resource Master & Radio Buttons

Thanks, Any advise for a GEM Lib? I'd prefer a small, not overcrowded lib compatible with Pure C. CF-Lib I attach an older version, because it looks like that the snapshot from freemint contains only a gnu c version. Thanks. Tried the included DEMO.APP and got this scrambled output under STEEM (TOS...

Re: Atari ST - dumping/reading ROM chips - which IC?

These are Mask-ROMs. They omit the pins needed for programming and replaced them with additional address lines. So you have to build an adapter to read them in an EPROMer. Or put them into another ST and check them. Or you add four 28pin sockets onto the mainboard and put six 27C256 (or compatible F...
