Re: 2nd drive capability in Megafile 30?

This is perfect ! :D Exactly what I was looking for! :D The photos are very, very good. Google Translate is not perfect but it adds more explanation. So it is possible. Excellent! Interesting to note the original ST-238R drive was replaced with a smaller ST-138 unit. That cleared room for the second...

2nd drive capability in Megafile 30?

I have searched both Atari forums and Google looking for information on adding a second drive to a Megafile 30. My searches come up blank. Maybe I am using the wrong search terms? Here is my question : Is it possible to add a second RLL drive to a Megafile 30? I understand there are issues with a la...

Re: Megafile 30 / 60 - what does J4 do?

Hmm! The reason I was asking if the controllers are virtually same because the reference designations are different between the two. J4 vs J7 for the jumper connections as sited above. Maybe Atari added some functionality between the two versions?

Re: Megafile 30 / 60 - what does J4 do?

Wow, thanks for the replies! This is good info.

It sounds like these jumpers should be left alone in most cases.

Oh, almost forgot to ask. What is the difference between the controller in the Megafile 30 and Megafile 60? Is there some special functionality missing in the 30?

Megafile 30 / 60 - what does J4 do?

The Megafile 30 and 60 have a block of jumpers labeled A through P. This block is called J4 on the Megafile 60 schematic that is floating on the web. I don't know the J[x] reference for the Megafile 30. According to the schematic they are hooked up to P7-P0 of the 8156. Seems like by default P7-P0 i...

Wow! Seems like two variations exists.

Can you post photographs of the drives and power supplies here? I think it could make a good reference for the future.

Re: Wanted : SF314 drive

Yes, I am in the US so my power here is 110/120 VAC.

Is there anything special about the power besides the connector? If the drives are all the same internationally then all I need is a dual output supply.

What is the connector type used on the power supply output? Is it a DIN 5 pin or something?

Re: Please help me remember/ID this game

Thanks for the reply!

It’s neither ST Rogue or Gauntlet. The background was white, not black.

The concept is very similar though.

Please help me remember/ID this game

This is going to be hard for me to describe ... and it will probably sound like a hundred games out there. Here goes. The player is a warrior of some sort. He moves in through the world one screen at a time. His movements are predefined in a grid of some sort. The warrior is controlled through the j...

Going beyond standard resolutions in Hatari?

Can I configure Hatari to go beyond the 640x200 and 640x400 resolutions and 16, 4, 2 color modes?

A 1440p ST screen would look really nice. :)

Re: using external floppy disc drive to tranfer

I have Windows 10 and a 1040 STe. My Teac USB floppy drive can format 720k floppies from a DOS windows. The floppy is perfectly readable on my 1040 STe. No mess, no fuss. :)

Wanted - Atari SF314 and XF551 drives

Hi Atari Forum!

My first post here. :D

I am looking for two drives, a double sided, double density SF314 for my STe and a XF551 for my 130XE. Does anyone have anything they can offer me? I am in the USA.

Thanks!

— Boris
