Send me your mist.ini as is, which doesn't work, I can check the ini parser then.
The core doesn't parse the ini file, the firmware does.

No idea then, would be good to see the ARM output on the serial port.
Are Genesis/SNES cores working? They're also using the direct ROM upload feature.

Re: NEW OR UPDATED ARCADE CORES

I've updated Zaxxon with sound (samples). Feel free to port to MiST. Code is available on MiSTer-devel GitHub. Good! It's definitely better with sounds. It feels like a bit of cheating to use samples instead of recreating the sound hardware, but I know the the analogue part requires much more effor...

Here's a new one, it loads Out of Contex, and runs Krestage 1 fully (the multiplexer part is not black).

Is there any docs about the original Oric DSK format? Maybe would be more sense to add support for that instead of a conversion to EDSK.

Most loading issues are caused by JiffyDos, e.g. Dive works well with the original Kernal for me. What TOS/Configuration are you using?
STe, TOS 2.06.
But I think the ACSI driver which can cause problems. I'm using the old AHDI from Atari, that has the best compatibility so far (just limiting the partition sizes).

Here's a new release with further VIC-II improvements: https://github.com/mist-devel/mist-binaries/blob/master/cores/fpga64/c64_200328.rbf I believe the VIC-II's timings are cycle-perfect now, at least events happen when they should (worked only on PAL mode, but I don't think NTSC is fundamentally d...

Re: It's no more a MiSTery

Maybe TOS regions are differ (PAL vs NTSC).
Or you're in Steroids mode.

Just tried it with PPera's HDInstall version, music speed is good (when playing together with the start of your recording, it's a good two-voiced music).
Check the refresh rate on the display's OSD, is it 60 or 50Hz?

Re: [ZX Spectrum Core] New Update

You don't have to create new ROM file (the rom= method in mist.ini should work with ARC files, too). The ARC itself is very simple, 3-4 lines in INI format.

Re: Can a 'how to load' & keyboard commands be added to OSD Menu?

I thought they could just displayed as a text page as part of the OSD. I don't know how it works but the OSD pulls specific options across (scanlines, CPU speed) so i thought it might be able to display some text. Just trying to have the useful Wiki info in one place rather than relying on Internet...

Re: Can a 'how to load' & keyboard commands be added to OSD Menu?

As the OSD has a limited size, I don't think it would be a good place.
Also where to put these help texts? Distribute separate help files for the cores?

Now you can use the ARC files for this purpose. You can define any number of variants for a single spectrum.rbf with different romsets.

Re: Atari 2600 / VIC 20

Does anyone know if the 2600 core on MiST has a framebuffer? Kevtris swears by a framebuffer when it comes to 2600. I guess its because of 2600 spits out different signal randomly. I'm simplifying things, but basically what 2600 outputs isn't consistent and why a framebuffer helps out. Edit: Neverm...

Re: MIST C64 core

Well, the VIC-II implementation wasn't really modified since it was released by Peter Wendrich for the last public FPGA64. It really needs some care. Detailed information is available in a comprehensive VIC-II article (however seems emulator authors found even more details). Any volunteers?
