Re: New STOS editor

Oh and just to whet your appetite, I've attached a screenshot. You can see I am editing a subroutine in a game I wrote. One more thing - this program works best with well structured code - i.e. if you have loads of gosubs, which exit nicely with returns (i.e. dont let control flow into other subrout...

New STOS editor

I've been working on a PC only STOS editor - one that looks like Visual Studio, and your lovely STOS code will look something like VB. Its not finished, the editor needs quite a bit of work still, but the main part - the loading & saving of .BAS files - is almost done. I'm going to need some testers...

Re: Logo Competition

Cheers for that bullis :) the poll thingy is a good idea, polls are always good ideas. I still think darklight's second entry is the best though  Funnily enough I like your ST logo one - it looks quite smart and is obviously on topic for the forum. I was kinda hoping for a logo rotator, but I...

Re: Image conversion...

Word of caution - convert a .PNG file to .GIF, not .JPG. Unless it is a photo, images will compress just as well into .GIF, and you will not lose definition / gain artifacts, which is a side effect of .JPG compression. But since GIF has an 8 bit colour palette, you will loose colour definition. Ban...

Re: Forum upgrade

Looking good! One feature I'd *love* to see added is RSS feeds, maybe just for the 'view active topics' page. Apparently the GYM Sitemap and RSS mod does it, (dont quote me I'm no expert with forum s/w, found it via google).

I'll be entering the logo competition too for sure :D

We're working on some support tools (music, data layouts) and I have some idea of the different types of enemy movement now, so as soon as unseen's done a scenery framework to work in I'll be sorting out enemies. My plan is to get some enemies moving, get some collision detection, try and get to th...

Going well, but currently stalled. Its only a personal project, one of many, and when something more interesting comes along I go with it. Maybe I can get it into a useful state and share it - sort of an alpha test.

No doubt some sort of GFA programmer   To be fair, GFA is a much, much better programming language :P Just didn't come with the same kind of API tailored towards sprites and games. If it had... that'd be pretty brilliant. . o O ( Hmm.... project? STOS-style games library for GFA? ) Awww,...

How does one go about obtaining GamebaseST? I remember reading I should look for it on P2P, but I never found it :(

Here is a small test file, in .bas & .asc. The numbers I entered were actually much longer, so it looks like STOS limits you to 5 decimal places. You are pretty much right with the extensions - it actually goes by the last letter of the extension's extension - i.e. STE.EXF is extension F, or 5, MIST...
