Re: NEW USB Host Controller via ACSI

Thanks for your reply Alanh! I found free CBHD, its just a cbhd502.tos file... zero documentation :? Going to give it a try this the weekend. I also found AHDI v6.061 will give it a try also. I don't have a Linux installation, I think I have a Linux boot CD, that I have never used. Have zero experie...

Re: NEW USB Host Controller via ACSI

Surely there's other software than HDDRIVER to get the Unicorn working?! Any tips would be very welcome. Because if I have to pay an additional €45 to get my Unicorn working, I would regret buying it :( I thought it would be possible to initialize the drive from TOS ...

What?! 512KB 8O? I thought it was 512MB? How am I supposed to get a decently sized partition? :)

Re: NEW USB Host Controller via ACSI

Thanks for the link Troed, missed that post! Just what I am looking for... I guess there's no way of doing partitioning with the TOS then? In that case I am going to have to DL the HDDriver and put it on an USB an bring it to my moms computer that still has a floppy. I found HDDRIVER 10 demo version...

Re: NEW USB Host Controller via ACSI

Uhm... I don't have any means to copy any new ST files to floppy here. I am really not too technical, a manual would have been great!! Is there any step by step to get this working?

Re: NEW USB Host Controller via ACSI

I was actually over at freemint, but couldn't figure out what was what. Anyway, there must have been something wrong with the disk, because once I copied all files over to another disk, its now booting. But what do I do after that? I have the .ACC running and I tried to install a new C drive, but no...

Re: NEW USB Host Controller via ACSI

Thanks Crashman! I did copy it in order, from what I found on a website. But I wasn't sure that would work, my memory about TOS is a bit hazy :) . I am going to try and delete the AUTO folder and redo it... cross you fingers!

Re: NEW USB Host Controller via ACSI

How do I change the order? I am not sure from where I got the drivers from, but DL them this tuesday. The file name is "usb-13122016.zip"

Removing STORAGE did nothing. It's an STE with that rainbow effect on the Fuji, not sure where I can see the exact version.

Re: NEW USB Host Controller via ACSI

I just got my Unicorn. But I can't get it to work. I boot from floppy on 1040STE and stuff loads in this order : USB Core API driver, USB Mouse Class driver, USB Mass storage class driver and lastly Unicorn USB conntroller drivers (TOS). It then detects my USB drive and says "Unicorn USB driver inst...

Re: Capturing Video from MiST (HDMI would be amazing)

A nice and very informative video from My Life in Gaming: https://youtu.be/lHoOKLWIMKU It goes through several upscaler solutions as alternatives to the XRGB. Still the XRGB stands out as the best price/quality ratio though. Thanks for the link! I have checked some of their other videos about XRGB,...

Can be a bit tricky finding fully working games sometimes. Try this one :http://atari.8bitchip.info/ASTGA/B/blaclamp.php

Should work ... hopefully :)

Re: Capturing Video from MiST (HDMI would be amazing)

50hz modes sometimes are off centre and sometimes have some "snow" video noise. People have done some hacks with a Raspberry Pi or Arduino to fix them, but it's still very experimental. That sounds pretty bad ... as I said I am pretty picky with my video quality and 50Hz is definitely going to happ...

Re: Capturing Video from MiST (HDMI would be amazing)

@Newsdee: Sorry, I think you already answered my question in a previous post. Its getting a bit confusing all of this :). But thanks for the link to the FAQ and more info on the GBS 8200. What is the trouble with 50Hz BTW? I am starting to feel that the best way to go would be the Framemeister, when...

Re: Capturing Video from MiST (HDMI would be amazing)

Probably it's not an issue of the MIST itself (unless it's the peak to peak level of the analog signals). But an issue of the cores that don't implement a standard VGA sync timing and resolution. Not blaming the cores, in most cases it's not trivial to solve at all. Just noting. Yeah, I did read ab...

I wonder if connecting a Ultimate SCART Adapter or similar would help? What hardware are you using to capture with?

Ah, I was afraid of that. What has been the major problem? Does it refuse to capture or is the picture wonky?

Re: Capturing Video from MiST (HDMI would be amazing)

I forgot to mention.. the XRGB does not directly accept VGA but it can accept RGB+Sync at 31khz via SCART (so the VGA frequency). Ah yeah, I see that now! I think I confused that Japanese connector on the back with a VGA connector... I seemed to remember it looking like that anyway :D Personally I ...

Re: Capturing Video from MiST (HDMI would be amazing)

Depending on what you want to do, you can get good enough performance using a cheap VGA to HDMI upscaler plus a GBS 8200 board to stabilize (an even upscale) the VGA signal from the MIST. It works mostly with 60hz signals though. Each device should cost you about $30. The HDMI converter might be en...

Re: Capturing Video from MiST (HDMI would be amazing)

@Newsdee I am very tempted by the XRGB-Mini, could probably prove very useful for me, not just with the MiST! It has VGA input as well, right? But problem is its pretty expensive, the total cost would probably land on €500+ for the MiST, XRGB-Mini and cables. The X-Capture 1 seems a bit cheaper, but...
