Re: My FireBee...

When I go, whenever that is, I want it to be on a 266mhz induced wave of euphoria, having gotten my hands on what is currently the most powerful Atari computer ever. YES! LOL, I like your style! Mathias, can you tell us how many FireBees exist? Have there been different revisions, or is every...

Re: Geneva

Woohoo!! That's awesome news! I wonder if the manuals will be made available by Dan himself.

Even if not, it sounds like he won't mind me sharing them.

I hope he registers here so we can talk to him.

Re: Help me identify this hardware mod?

Did the 5.25" ever use ID switches, 0 or 1, like the 3.5" drives I remember we had to search for?

Re: Help me identify this hardware mod?

I would assume that if indeed it's a 5.25" floppy, it's probably not a 1.2mb, but the Double Density one like the 3.5" floppies.

Help me identify this hardware mod?

The previous owner of my STE modded a new port into the back of it. I bought it so long ago that I can't remember what he said about it. I think it may be for a 5 1/4" floppy drive, but I'm not sure. What do you think? Also, does anyone have information on this particular mod? I couldn't find anythi...

Mods section?

Is there a subforum to discuss mods? For instance, a place where it would be most appropriate to ask for help in identifying one in a newly acquired computer or asking if certain mods exist yet? Sub sections for different types would be nice. I thought if it didn't exist yet, maybe it could be creat...

Re: Questions about ICD AdSCSI-PLUS ST

I ended up purchasing an UltraSatan drive from Lotharek on eBay.

I expect to receive it in a couple of weeks. Then I'll see if I can hook it up to my AdSCSI-Plus card's passthru port and still have my 3 HDD partitions while using the UltraSatan.

It should work, right? Any tips I should know about?

Re: Ultar Satan for sale on ebay

All my offers were denied (only 3 offers allowed) and my best offer was only 5 less than his asking price... oh well. I ended up paying his asking price. In case any other Americans want to get one, PayPal converted the £106.99 GBP (97.99 + 9.00) to $166.89. The deal really was sweetened with ...

Re: Ultar Satan for sale on ebay

I like this part: Inside BOX: Cased ultrasatan device DB19 ASCI Cable - approx 20cm length 2Gb SANDISK SD card with some stuff (9 partitions, C: - boot, D: - best demos for ST/STE - ICDPRO, other - empty) So if you order from Lotharek on eBay he throws in a cable and a SD card, neither of which he i...

Re: Looking for info on NetUSBee

I already have an ACSI-to-SCSI card and lots of hard drive space. I'm wondering if the NetUSBee would satisfy my desire to transfer files between PCs and the Atari, through the ethernet port. Can I easily copy files to a shared drive on my network? I'm guessing network configuration like TCP/IP and ...

Looking for info on NetUSBee

I've seen the NetUSBee card on Lotharek's site (http://lotharek.pl/product.php?pid=73), but I can't find a good source of information on it. I'd love to see a wiki page so I could see all the facts in one place. I'm looking for: 1) What hardware can be used on the USB ports? Is there a list of known...

Is this the type of controller we would want? This is too far outside my realm of understanding. If this would work, it's nice and cheap, and very much available.

Re: FireBee Laptop

The big question would be how-to/where-to connect the internal cables for the screen, keyboard, touchpad, and speakers. And drivers for them.

I'm not a software or hardware developer AT ALL, just an ideas-guy. ;)

Re: FireBee Laptop

I've also been looking into some way to re-purpose styrofoam, since I receive a lot of shipments and hate throwing it in the garbage. There's a simple way to create your own plastic using acetone with styrofoam (see this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kRxTX7amBLk) and with some kind of mold, you cou...

Re: FireBee Laptop

I was dreaming of some kind of kit to adapt a laptop screen you could steal from a dead laptop. I would possibly attempt to make a wooden case, since wood is relatively easy to work with. Then maybe an adapter to use the interface of a cheap laptop keyboard and trackpad - I can buy new replacement H...

Did the sticker come with it?

Also, what are the three buttons above your Atari badge?

Re: Geneva

I have an original boxed/binder copy of Geneva 1.04 with NeoDesk 4.04 with the entire manual, all serial numbers, etc. A Gribnif catalog inside says Summer 1995. I think I bought it off eBay about 12-15 years ago just to play around with it. It was an impulse buy and I don't think I even got around ...

Wow, thanks! I didn't know about the wiki.

I see in the wiki that the card reader "works with new HDDriver to access multiple LUNs". Is it possible with the free ICD Pro drivers?

Re: Questions about ICD AdSCSI-PLUS ST

Thanks guys. I also found these on eBay and elsewhere, which are said to work in an Atari (with SCSI interface): http://a4000t.com/store/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=250 In case the link goes bad later, it's a SCSI-2 memory card reader with 6 different slot formats (IBM SCM PCD-60B)....

Re: Is SainT unable to write to floppy?

I gave up on the SainT emulator and am now using Steem SSE 3.5.0 with the Pasti DLL. I had the same problem in Steem until I figured out where to configure Pasti and turn off the read-only option.

Maybe that will help someone else.
