Re: Custom Atari Hotz MIDI Translator Rackmount - 1U

Okay. Thanks so much for this. I am beginning to understand. The bottom seven pads on my controller trigger the row with 07 next to it. I set this to Zoom. The next six pads trigger the row with 02 next to it. I set this to lower. The next eight pads trigger the row with 03 next to it. I set this to...

Re: Custom Atari Hotz MIDI Translator Rackmount - 1U

I'm not having much luck. Everything I try is giving inconsistent results. I may have to try the Windows software (God forbid) so that I can grasp the concept and what all the channel settings are supposed to do. I either get chords all over the pads or I get one patch all over most of the pads in d...

Re: Today this creature has arrived at my house.

Once I understand the software I will be making a YouTube video. There are so many options and nothing I am trying gives consistent results when setting up the channels and etc. I am sure I am missing something. Check out Mindthreat's videos and the others on YouTube. Different controllers but the s...

Re: Today this creature has arrived at my house.

Any luck obtaining the Atari documentation? I have the same controller that you have. I'm having extreme difficulty understanding the software. It sure would be nice to have the manual!

Re: Custom Atari Hotz MIDI Translator Rackmount - 1U

Oh, important question. Do I need to connect the midi out or the midi through from the JV-1080 to the midi in on the Hotz? I'm thinking that I do to change the midi channels the unit is sending for each row of pads? The whole upper/lower/zoom dialogue seems to change zones of 7 notes on my controlle...

Re: Custom Atari Hotz MIDI Translator Rackmount - 1U

Thanks so much for the explanation! I haven't really looked at the midi channels yet. Seems like there are many places to set them. I'll try this out and see what I can come up with. Any chance that you would be willing to do some starter tutorial videos on YouTube? Your videos are super cool! Tutor...

Re: Custom Atari Hotz MIDI Translator Rackmount - 1U

I discovered that all the folders/files were not being copied because I was using USB to copy. Now I am seeing the setups, but I'm still lost on how to use the software with this controller and the JV-1080 so far. Should I be in General MIDI mode on the JV, or a multitimbral mode? I'm wondering how ...

Re: Custom Atari Hotz MIDI Translator Rackmount - 1U

I now own this Hotz Midi Translator controller. I'm trying the software, but I don't understand it yet. The only instructions I find say that there should be some setups included with the software like "exotic." I'm not seeing anything like that. My synth responds to the Hotz Midi Translator control...

Everything is going great and I have recorded some extensive projects. Now I need a silent CPU cooler and silent power supply for my CT60e Falcon (eventually).

Re: CAF and SCSI2SD working

Rustynutt: see this link for all the info you need: http://www.codesrc.com/mediawiki/index.php/SCSI2SD The utility flashes the device with a Mac/PC by USB. It also will mount the drives so that you can read them on the Mac/PC (only on 6.0 board). The Falcon does read the disk directly, just as a reg...

CAF and SCSI2SD working

I have always wanted to get SCSI2SD working with Cubase Audio Falcon. I never had any luck with my 5.0 board, so I recently purchased a 6.0 Rev. F board. After testing with several different settings I found that SCSI Selection Delay of 0 did the trick. It is working. I have Parity Enabled and SCSI2...

Re: Live Performer by Dave Henry

Unfortunately, this was on a Stacy I am restoring and the hard drive has now frozen up. I also have an external drive that came with it, so I’m hoping the software may also be on that drive. I discovered that all the .sng files on the drive were just standard midi files. It seems this may have been ...

Live Performer by Dave Henry

Does anyone have this software? It seems to need a floppy key disk, which I do not have. I found it on a hard drive on a computer I bought. I would like to try listening to all the midi song files that are also on the drive. It is from 1984. For Atari ST.

CAF partition size limit TOS 4.04

Any way to go above the 1 GB limitation for partition size for Cubase Audio Falcon these days? I’m always running out of space, even on relatively small projects. I currently use a 2 GB Jaz drive because it is the quietest solution I have found, but I have some larger drives.

Re: fixing the dead CT60

Thanks czietz! In all my searching I couldn't find a photo where I could read the number. I have ordered a new flash ROM, and we'll see if it comes alive when I switch it out. As a warning to others, this happened when trying to fit all the ribbon cables, wires etc. in the original falcon case when ...

Re: fixing the dead CT60

I damaged a chip and need to know what the replacement part would be. I cannot read the numbers on the chip. They are too faded. It is the chip next to R16 and C9 next to the copyright on the board. I cannot flash the TOS. I can flash the ABE and the SDR.

Thanks!

No. It won't work with CAF. I came to that same conclusion that it was probably made for the non-audio version of Cubase.

Re: CT60 UNKNOWN FLASH DEVICE!

I'll try the CT60 on my other Falcon and report back what I find, and then I go forward from there. Some have said that the header pins on the Falcon "rust" and it is a good idea to replace the headers, but I'll check everything out first. Reflowing/replacing the solder on the CT60 is a good idea. Re: CT60 UNKNOWN FLASH DEVICE!

I do have a different Falcon to try, but I'm not sure I want to mess with my perfectly working CT60e Falcon with SuperVidel :-) I may try if I get the courage. Does anyone know if you can flash the Boot/TOS with a PC/Xilinx jtag instead of Didier's tool and a Falcon custom jtag? I'm suspicious that ...

Re: CT60 UNKNOWN FLASH DEVICE!

I'm currently using the flash tool from version 1.03, as I know that always worked before. I do have the keyboard insulated. Nothing to touch the pins on the CTPCI or anything, but I suppose there could have been static or something moved when I sat the keyboard down.
