Re: SpeedoFont file viewer / simple GEM font editor

During some recent experiments with NVDI & font files, i wrote some utilities. One is (a very simple) Editor for GEM *.fnt files. For now, you can only edit existing fonts, but there is also some support to export/import them from some propietary text file format. Another is a viewer for SpeedoFont...

Re: Atari MSTE - NVDI 4 or 5?

Well... lets assume that I have pure Atari MSTE. I bought it month ago for Cubase. I have also VME card and ATI Mach32 card. Still working on the default proper system setup. For Cubase you won’t need Vector Fonts, so NVDI 2.51 will save you some RAM. Otherwise I’d opt for NVDI 5, latest version. L...

Re: NetBSD Atari

Can someone tell me about NetBSD Atari Falcon ? Is it useful for one that uses Ubuntu on his PC ? Is it slow or quick ? is it easy to install ? Comparison with MinT, Magic, Geneva and so on .... I have a basic Falcon with 14 Mo RAM, IDE, SCSI and Iomega drives. I think install the system on a Iomeg...

Re: hatari v 2.0.0 running ultra slow on most Raspberry machines

Not Atari related but a friend fo mine, try to compile 2.0 version to MorphOS and works extremely slooooow in a PowerPC G4 1000Mhz ! I love Hatari but sometimes I miss that ASM emulators in old machines. There are “ASM” emulators for emulating the Atari ST series. But as currently no volunteer has ...

Re: 4MB Upgrade & 16MHz Booster progress

Btw I wonder how this will work with a MonSTer card... Also, LaceScan would extend the resolutions even more. 800++ horisontal resolution would be possible in 16 colour. Indeed, did anyone of the more-hardware-skill-enabled forum colleagues already try that? Would be much interested in both whether...

Re: 4MB Upgrade & 16MHz Booster progress

LaceScan will surely work. Wow. Would not have thought that the ST’s graphic system is that stretchable. Regarding MonSTer I actually have one in my Mega ST and since I socketed the 68000 it should be simple to test. "Simple" could still mean months ... I'm way behind on all the things I should do ...

Seems like this gets to be yet another one update per year project... :) Oh well... So in case this interests anyone, I added some AES and VDI bindings the past few days. Which means things like this (with video) are now possible. As usual, everything is committed to here . Cool stuff, thanks! Pasc...

A proxy like wrp could help.

Re: Inexpensive RTC just wire in?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I seem to remember some years ago reading that the date and time functions on the ST were handled by the keyboard controller IC and there was a mod which essentially strapped a battery to this IC to hold its state after the machine was powered off. Not the most elegant ...

Very new to Atari workings so please pardon this most basic question: for a hardware reference for the ST; I already have the Abacus / Becker Atari ST Internals . Re: Cloning an Atari CF card on a Mac

Let's say I've created a nice Compact Flash "hard drive" for my ST (connected via an IDE-CF adapter to a MonSTer board) and want to back it up. Or rather clone it as I want the AUTO programs to go in the exact same order as I put them (I use AUTOsort a lot for this sort of thing when the order matt...

Hello, I attach a program. With them you can read a Portfolio memory card with the Milan. You need the PC Card Drive . At the moment is it possible to read files and folders from the memory card. With a special version I can read the directory from a card with the EtherNec on a Mega ST. Cool stuff,...

I've interfaced my 1040STFM to a Cyclone-II FPGA through the shifter socket in order to generate TMDS signalling. The result is a purely digital signal path from ST to DVI or HDMI monitor/TV. Marvellous project! Very cool. I hope the excitement in the audience won’t lead to understandable requests ...

Yes, it will do ST low (320×200, plus borders) or ST med (640×200, plus borders). Or more, with Lacescan or Overscan.

Since you can compile it Yes, it compiles and it is written in object-oriented PurePascal. BTW: The compiler needs patches to be able to compile Tex...
