A friend wants rid of an Amiga A500, RF TV out thingy, huge PSU, mouse, joypad, several disks and manuals.
Power light comes on but nothing on the screen.

Oh yes, its all working, I'll be celebrating tonight .... Heres how I got there in the end. Used fdisk to delete partitions then created just the one partition and formatted. Copied win98 folder to hard drive. Put drive in another computer and ran setup. On first restart, I removed the drive and put...

I might try win98 not SE, see if that works.
Maybe fully install dos on drive c then try windows setup.

If I take out the clock cart the STE starts and runs Ok.
grrrr, spent ages putting a new battery in it and sorting out the software.

No, same PSU, it just started working, and now its stopped again. The power light comes on and the hard drive rattles, but thats it. Time to try another PSU maybe

I'm using the STE with a TV, I've given up on the colour monitor.
Works quite well with a scart lead.
Just played Fascination, a nice graphic adventure.
Didn't need to cheat either, apart from the bit with the organ at the end!
Its a bit of a pixel hunter, but good fun.
