Re: SupraDrive HD Troubles

Babackup up a touch, it is booting.. the screen shotd reveal this- there is something loading from auto or acc hanging the final desktop.

Hold ALT during boot- bypasss that stuff and see what happens. then rename the auto folder to autx and try again without alt.

Re: Modified ST hassles

Mark, From what I've seen from you- you could do a better job. I just try to commit a few hours a day to create stuff on cad. The end result will require some serious shrinking to be viable and usable. The vision is there, but I'll say the result is almost art before function. A most wicked o...

Re: Modified ST hassles

Bet you've been thinking I have something hot to reveal.... Not yet. sadly.. but not for lack of late nights and fuzzy eyes. I'm working on it. There must be some kind of degree for pcb routing. Using basic tools to create complex circuits is stretching me right out. The reengineered HD mod is funct...

A nudge might wake me up. The project is progressing. I've just been busy getting organised for winter. Wood shed built, gravel laid- wood aquired. Multiple trips to town. The circuitry is being drawn up on cad. Integrating all the features isn't easy. All tracked by hand/cad. Slow work. M...

Other than the neat little adapter to convert the external floppy port to 34pin ribbon style.

Can't see any real reason.

Re: High Density drive module

And the mod needs one or a pair of signals from the 'Sound Chip' called 'Disk Select'.. from Pins 20 & 21. (Not always both though- often just one) Seems odd that the sound chip does it... but the FDC hasn't the ability actually for multiple drives. You'd be surprised what else the sound chip does- ...

I've never tried, but I have 16 seperate pieces of 1Mb 30Pin Simms.. all three chip . One set of 4 same brand, then 4 pairs each of different brands. And 4 odd.. But all use basically the same 514400 chips. Thing is, they are mostly 70ns for the pair groups, except for a 60ns set. The set of 4 are 8...

Hey, Yup, That is an AT-Speed C16... Just like mine. 286-16MHz CPU, can run a Math Co-Processor.. I've used both an AMD and Intel 287XL just fine. (The XL is a better 387core!) It will run DOS and Win3.11 successfully. But I've discovered that to use a HDD, it must use the ASCI port. No IDE. (I ran ...

Re: MEGA ST keyboard with Caps Lock LED

Could someone post the program to dump the keyboard ROM.... I can't seem to find my copy.

I would like to dump and compare the Mega ST keyboard I have here (thanks to Spiny) to my other normal ST type. (I have a few.. but all appear the same p/n)

Cheers,

You did see the TTL based 'Fram8Mb' Frank Lucas posted up quite a while back.

I'm sure you commented on it.. The docs on the Atari hacks site for 16Mb are somehow impossible to follow.

The Fram8Mb or the Magnum8Mb look best.

Re: Modified ST hassles

I'd be inclined to try the GALs you have already recieved.

Different branding shouldn't really matter. Go one at a time- see what happens.

Read in the old ones- write the new ones- compare and insert. Then peraps 'update' them, and try again.

Very gently of course.

Just a thought.

Had a little 'ahah!' moment today while I'm still waiting for the new GALs to arrive. The first bit of code HDFLOP11 that Holger posted up- should also work well as a enhanced version of the Hybrid 16Mhz Overclock mod. Again we really seek perfect clock switching to prevent glitching during clock ch...

Why over clock the shifter?

The main bus and cpu makes sense. Faster. But Video is fast enough?
