Re: adding a thermistor to Eiffel

Simbo, are you saying that I should flash the PIC of my otherwise working Eiffel card?
Is there the possibility that mi PIC wasn't programmed to read the temperature when it was set-up?

Re: adding a thermistor to Eiffel

UPDATE (this is weird...) Here I am again, and no magic smoke came out of my board, so... However it happened something I didn't notice before: the magenta line that usually stays flat on the CT60 temperature screen isn't there anymore, maybe I recently turned off something, who knows. BUT! I checke...

Re: adding a thermistor to Eiffel

Hmmm.. so it seems that I really have to put my thermistor between pin2 and ground; I just realized that putting it between pin2 and pin8 is actually the very same thing since pin8 goes to GND. Great! I wish to thank all of you who answered. I'll write an update as soon as I fry the boa^H^H^H^H^H^H^...

Hi!
Did it, of course, with no luck:
My schematics seem a little different, that's why I wrote the second post.

I think I'll try that hoping not to fry my board, hehe...

All i could understand is that I should solder it between pin2 and pin8 of the PIC, Am I right?

adding a thermistor to Eiffel

Hi all. Time ago I bought an Eiffel board from Satantronic (IIRC). I recently bumped into a suitable thermistor and I wanted to attach it to the board. However, my board doesn't have the pins for thermistor&fan, or so it seems to me. Can anybody help? I tried to contact someone at satantronic with n...

Re: Yeah! SvperVidel arrived today!

As I wrote somewhere else, I had this CRC error at boot and also a strange "rx read error" or something like that during standard operations. I solved the CRC thing by swapping a lot of RAM sticks until I found a good one, while I still have the "read error" randomly. After getting answers from the ...

Re: Eiffel 3 questions

The mouse issue (USB or not USB?) bothered me time ago, and I realized that it was a trial-and-error thing for me: I had some USB working mice and some USB non-working mice. Right now I am happy with a USB optical wireless logitech. It is a little too responsive, but overall it's OK for me. I someti...

Nice and clean website! I'd like to see again when all the pages will be more populated.

Little typo (I think): Coldfire should be a single word (in the drop-down menu)

About the HD displacement: In my frankencase this is maybe my masterpiece (mwhahahaha!). I unscrewed the HD bracket, reversed it, and plied two feet in order to install the HD vertically! This way I have the video cable gently touching the HD, and I didn't have to change the HD ribbon, since it perf...

Re: Net Surf GEM Port

Thanks, m0n0!
I don't know where the user mailinglist is. All I checked is the changelog, and this way I know that I am running 3.0 (from the toswin2 launcher) and 2.9 from double-click

As for the new choices and the treeview, I'll try it as soon as I can.

Oh, one other thing: in the latest developers' snapshots it shows the background for history and hotlist BLACK, while the earlier snapshots were GREY.

However, I have to launch it always from toswin2 (the developer's version I mean)

Re: mounting unckecked FS

That's how my fstab is, actually. However, I noticed that in fscheck.sh the check lines for DOS drives are commented out, and if I eneble them, MiNT refuses to start because it can't check c: since it's the boot drive. This way, I have to doschk after I am in the desktop. Still, If I start MiNT in a...

Re: mounting unckecked FS

When MiNT is in its startscreen, it shows a few options that you can toggle. It is when you see START MINT - yes LAUNCH XFS - yes ... SHOW MESSAGES - alerts ... REMEMBER SETTINGS - yes touch a key or wait 4 seconds So you touch a key and select the level of verbosity you want. If you set "none" you ...

I am trying to understand which version of the ABE&SDR are installed. I run back all my emails with R.Czuba, and I discovered that he updated my motherboard in mid-2005, so I assume I am with the V5x

Re: never seen error (solved)

I noticed that this is not a problem, since everything works; it's just an annoyance. I must try disabling MiNTnet altogether. I already wrote that in plain TOS this never happens. Also, it's interesting how it changes when slowing down the clock. Ah, by the way, I had to set my clock at 95MHz again...

Re: never seen error

maybe we are getting to it: going at 50 Hz steps up, I noticed that the number of errors went down, but the machine got more program crashes (as we already knew). Then I started going down, and while the errors increased, all of a sudden the decreased at around 93MHz. Right now, at around 92.200 MHz...

Re: never seen error

I will try by lowering the clock. However, I remember I had huge problems time ago with low frequencies, like it was more unstable, can't remember... In the meanwhile I set up a clean startup (as much clean as I could) and got the very same error: when in kronos OR in zbench I start the VDI test, an...

Re: never seen error

My CT60 is running @95MHz with a programmbale module directly provided bu Czuba. It is a "soldered" CT60 installation with 128MB SDRAM and 14MB STRAM I removed EtherNat (maybe I will install it again for USB purposes) I don't remember the CT60 chipset version, since it was updatet directly by Czuba ...

never seen error (solved)

I don't know if it's SV related, but it happens to me since I installed it, so, let's hope to sort it out. It happens randomly, it seems, and it prints on the console (or the screen if the console isn't open) "buf_alloc RX failed 1718" I also discovered that while in Kronos (2.2) it always happens w...
