hmm call me a heretic if you like but... pc pixel paint progs like for example promotion easily outperform any atari lowres paintprog i can think of... you can scale back to the exact ST or STE palette if you like (just select 3 or 4bit per colour channel), do this before you start painting and you'...

http://no-fragments.atari.org/no_fragments_02/MSA/OVR/ST_MENU/ST_MENU1.MSA seems to be damaged :-( the menu only says: "CAN'T READ MENU INFO..." and doesn't respond to any keyboard input btw, menu #4 in the series is odd too... it has the same contents as menu #2 (iirc), but is some kilobytes larger?!

see the little hole on the right of the front of that falcon? that's where you plug a DIN pc keyboard in...

oh, and the "smear mode"/"cheap polyfill" DOES exist.. at least it does on TT, ask ray or earx about this for technical details.. :)
