Re: Transfer notator disks for use on gotek

I used Steem. I copied the contents of the ZIPs into four separate folders on my emulated hard-drive. Then created 4 x blank disk images using STeem's disk manager (making sure I used the .ST format). Inserted each disk, copied the files across and rinse and repeat. Then uploaded them here.

Re: Transfer notator disks for use on gotek

The same four disks from the website above, but stored as separate .ST files. Named the same as the .ZIP files from the website too.

(I removed the junk files that a Mac had created in case they tripped the max size for a floppy disk image).

Re: Transfer notator disks for use on gotek

You need an external drive to make MSA images of your disks and then transfer the disks to a PC. Which if you haven't got a PC floppy drive, it becomes a pain. You didn't specify which version of Notator you are running, but if someone has already done the transfer across, then then might be able to...

Re: Looking for a particular menu disk

Hunter and Jimmy Whites appeared on FOF/Superior 83A - http://stonish.net/Flame-Of-Finland-Superior-219#st96 - but definitely no Freddy picture. They also appeared on Special FX 45 (v2) but that's a picture more like Castlevania (I think). http://stonish.net/Special-FX-143#st51 Having gone through e...

Re: STOS autorun (when a disk has the STOS folder on it)

Ppera's patch fixes the jump tables in the compiled .PRG file so that the original hard-coded addresses for each TOS ROM routine weren't needed. (At least that's how I understand it). It looks for certain bytes to be present at certain addresses and then does the magic required and creates a new .PR...

Cheers MoA.

How did you patch it as the Ppera patch didn't even get as far as creating the backup of the original PRG?

Have you tried patching SkyStrike+?

Re: STOS autorun (when a disk has the STOS folder on it)

OK, cheers for looking.

I'll try renaming the DEMO.BAS to AUTO.BAS and see if that works, if not, I'll go back to using the AUTOEXEC.BAS solution.

Then I will use the same methods as learned so far to fix a few more demos for DemoZoo.

Re: STOS autorun (when a disk has the STOS folder on it)

That's now fixed. It boots and whilst it now shows "TOS v1.62" after STOS is loaded, it's now STE compatible (except for the 6th screen as previously mentioned). If you compare the fixed disk to the original, there isn't an AUTOEXEC.BAS on the original disk. I've checked for hidden files too, so it'...

Re: STOS autorun (when a disk has the STOS folder on it)

Maybe I misunderstood, but I have created the AUTOEXEC.BAS that does that Run command as above. But the demo still boots into STOS editor and sits there :( Once running it all works, but with a tiny bit of screen corruption on the last screen (F6 - END). I'm guessing that he must have been using ass...

Re: Shipwreck Atari ST Maths game

Just a quick update. I have managed to acquire the disk image for Shipwreck. Let me know if this is something that would be of interest to you. The original post was from 4 years ago. I think the trip to Iceland has been and gone. You can always upload the disk image onto the forum and then anyone ...

STOS autorun (when a disk has the STOS folder on it)

On the STOS Facebook group, Neil Halliday posted a few demos. Some were easy to fix with the STOSFP1 tool. But others still had the STOS library files on. So my theory was to get a copy of the latest STOS from the STOS Time Tunnel, then compare the files in the disk with the latest and replace the o...

If there are any posts that need moving from their current location into here, and the moderators can't do that, then let simonsunnyboy know (or myself) and we'll get them moved into this sub-forum.

E.g. the one about pre-done SD cards for UltraSatan running FreeMint?

Re: Floppy Disk Stream Image Repository

Still having issues. I can write the known working SCP image back to a disk, but when I make an image of the same rescued disk, not all of the (apparently) full tracks are read back in. The above were found on my old laptop and I hadn't transferred them to the main MegaSync folder. Only 3 months or ...

All of the first disks were protected by Rob Northern. Maybe the intros have been wrapped using his protection too?

Try using Dec0de by Orion/Replicants on the .PRG files? https://github.com/orionfuzion/dec0de (there's an ST as well as PC tool)

Re: Who should I credit if I use this code?

A bit of history: The original installer was by someone I knew in Colwn Bay (North Wales) who went by the handle of 'Merlin'. Over the years of doing bootsectors and the analysis thereof, I updated it several times to make it easier to develop my simple bootsectors (e.g. for loading PI1/PC1/TN1 file...
